Manufacturing Operator
Overview
As a Manufacturing Operator within the Instrumentation Department (Mass Spectrometry and Informatics), we will rely on you to manufacture speciality measurement instrumentation and computer based hardware products which are used by our customers worldwide. Our innovations enable significant advances in a wide array of applications including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Biomedical, Food safety, Environmental, Academic and Government industries. In this exciting job opportunity, you will be directly involved in the manufacturing of products for the MS Instrumentation and Data Operations Manufacturing department, such as Robots, Software Kits, PCs, MS analysers, MS sub-assemblies and MS Instruments.
Responsibilities
As part of a team, you will be responsible for:
Line Opening/ Line Closing
- To carry out necessary checks on material against the Factory Order Bill of Materials prior to commencing production on that factory order.
- To carry out the necessary checks on material against the Factory Order Bill Of Materials prior to closing the Factory Order and making it available of Warehouse storage.
- To print all labels required for as part of the production build on that product, to carry out the necessary verification on each label as specified.
Software Duplication / Kitting / Doc Duplication
- Printing of Artworks images onto CDs and DVDs
- CD & DVD Duplication.
- CD/DVD Verification.
- Key Disk Duplication and Verification.
- Kitting and Shrink-Wrapping of Software kits
- The production of documents.
PC Configuration
- Configuration of Lace systems.
- Configuration of Workstations systems.
Instrument Assembly / Pre-Shipping / Packaging
- The assembly of Mass Spectrometry instruments.
- To perform the Pre-Shipping Check on instruments prior to the unit being made available for Instrument Health Check.
- The packaging of instruments and associated spares prior to shipment into the distribution channel.
Chemical Cleaning / Sub Assy build / Analyser build / Sub-assy test
- Carry out all aspects of the Chemical Cleaning process if required.
- Assemble all current Analyser, Quad and Detector types if required.
- Screening Quadrupoles to meet the required specifications.
- Screening Detectors to meet the required specifications.
Spares Packaging
- Packaging of spare parts prior to shipment into the distribution channel, ensuring the correct packaging procedure is adhered to.
Engineering Change Requests/Deviations
- Ensure all relevant work on analysers, quadrupoles and detectors have been completed once a deviation/change note has been approved and instructed.
Project Work
- To complete any project work (CI/NPI) as instructed by the area Supervisor to the highest standard and in a timely manner.
Procedures, Work Instructions and Check Lists
- To carry out all tasks within the specifications of the appropriate procedures, work instructions, JBS and check lists that have been generated to support the production processes of each area.
- Ensure that all controlled documentation is recorded in a timely manner, and the correct revision of the procedure/work instruction are been used as per GDP.
- Ensure you are fully trained and signed off on all work/instructions/procedures relevant to any manufacturing process.

Continuous Improvement
- Continually strive to improve the overall process, to identify opportunities as they arise and work towards a possible solution. Kaizen, 5s, Gemba, LDMS, VoP, Innovation.
Inventory Management
- Prevent the unnecessary damage to inventory stock through poor handling. Avoid the unnecessary scrapping of stock.
Qualifications
- Educated to Leaving Certificate level or equivalent.
- Work on own initiative and pay close attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- A flexible work ethic and enjoys working in a team environment.
- A keenness to develop and grow
Desirable but not essential:
- A Third level qualification in a Science or Engineering related subject.
- Previous expierience in a manufacturing environment.
