Overview
The IT Associate Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting the successful planning, execution, and completion of technology projects within the organization. This position assists with coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage execution of small to medium projects from beginning to end including all phases - planning, requirements, design, testing and cutover.
- Understands the business case and success criteria for the project.
- Actively monitor project dependencies and risks in the project RAID log.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project goals and requirements.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of project presentations, reports, and documentation.
- Facilitate meetings, capture meeting minutes, and follow up on action items and deliverables.
- Measure progress and monitor performance (overall, scope, schedule, costs, quality) with an eye towards continuous improvement.
- Help ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and IT best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2 - 5 years of experience in project coordination, project management, or a related IT role.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively to deal well with shifting priorities and assignments.
