Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Informatics Professional Services Specialist to support the continued growth of our businesses across Central Europe.

As an Informatics Professional Services Specialist, you act as an ambassador for Waters, representing our products and services in the market. You will develop a strong understanding of each customer's business and growth plans, using that insight to shape tailored Waters solutions that drive true customer success. This role offers a high level of flexibility, with a blend of remote work and field‑based activity.

Territory for this role is Germany and Switzerland.

  • Planning and delivering high-quality and efficient professional services solutions to our customers, including deployment, consultation, training and support activities of Waters' portfolio of informatics products in a blue-chip multi-sector environment, both face-to-face and remotely;
  • Maintaining and creating accurate records and detailed technical documentation pre and post deployment, such as Statement of Work, detailed System Architect, including system configurations, issues, and resolutions.
  • Ability to discuss the benefits of the Waters Informatics Products and associated services;
  • Providing guidance to customers to ensure they maintain compliance and enable smooth, safe operation of Waters' informatics products in their laboratories;
  • Maintaining customer relationships and liaising as appropriate with the relevant sales account manager for the customer, ensuring key focus on the customer and their needs are met;
  • Effectively handling customer calls and any administration tasks ensuring you optimise your time and delivery against the metrics set within the business

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Life Sciences or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

  • Understanding of the laboratory workflow and its integration with scientific software systems (CDS, SDMS, LMS, ELN, LIMS);
  • Familiarity with Waters Informatics software solutions, including an understanding of the technical requirements;
  • Proficiency in Windows Server environments and familiarity with Oracle Databases and other supporting technologies used in Waters solutions;
  • Knowledge of the analytical instrumentation environment;
  • Experience working with LC, GC and MS systems;
  • Good understanding of GMP/GLP requirements;
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid infrastructure deployments is a plus.

Competencies:

  • The installation, configuration, and support of Oracle databases embedded in Informatics software products;
  • The installation, configuration, and support for Microsoft Active Directory domains and their requisite server infrastructure;
  • Installation and support services for VMware, Citrix, networking, server clustering, Linux and IT security;
  • Post installation maintenance, fault tolerance management, and disaster recovery support services to accounts utilising Waters Informatics products,
  • Provide training on our portfolio of networked Informatics products and participate in marketing or commercial events to promote those products;
  • Highly passionate person with charisma, perseverance and determination, enjoys personal interaction and relationship building with key customers;
  • Customer-focused with very good listening skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills with a positive sense of humour and is able to contribute as part of an integrated sales/service organisation;
  • Good priority setting and organisational skills;
  • Ability to identify and lead a customer enquiry through to the sales team;
  • Fluent in German and English languages;

Travel:

  • A valid passport will be required.
  • This is a territory-based position which can require overnight international travel within the designated territory, and occasional travel to other countries for activities such as governance of the department, local business support, meetings and training.
