Position Overview
The Vice President of Communications, Latin America, The Warner Bros. Company and HBO Max, is a senior executive serving as key strategic advisor to regional leadership, embedded early in planning with Content, Sports, Kids and Marketing teams. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all communication for The Warner Bros Company and publicity strategies for HBO Max, the company's streaming platform, across the Latin American region.
The responsibilities for the position are to work with the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer, to whom the position reports, on managing press engagement for company initiatives, local policy and corporate business performance.
This role will also lead the communications function for the streaming platform, ensuring alignment with global brand objectives while tailoring messaging to diverse audiences across Latin America. The VP will provide executive communications support, manage publicity campaigns for original series, sports programming, and all content available on HBO Max, and act as a key strategic partner to leadership teams. The position will have a dotted-line report to the Executive Vice President of Communications for HBO Max and Programming, ensuring strategic alignment with company-wide communication objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for The Warner Brothers Company and HBO Max in Latin America, supporting business objectives and brand growth. Serve as the chief spokesperson and media contact for the region. Coordinate with global and regional leadership to ensure messaging consistency and cultural relevancy.
Executive Communications: Provide strategic communications support to senior executives, including media training, and public appearances. Prepare executive leadership for interviews, events, and press engagements. Craft internal and external messaging on behalf of regional executives.
Publicity Campaigns: Oversee all publicity and promotional campaigns for HBO Max's original series, sports programming, and additional streaming content. Collaborate with Media Relations, Talent Relations, Streaming Communications and Marketing teams to design and implement innovative campaigns that drive subscriber growth and engagement.
Manage relationships with talent, showrunners, and creative partners to maximize positive media coverage and audience awareness through press junkets, regional events and programming premieres.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers across Latin America. Monitor media coverage and marketplace trends to proactively address issues and leverage opportunities. Develop crisis communication plans and serve as point of contact during sensitive or high-profile situations.
Sports Communication: integrate sports communication into a unified framework, developing clear processes for elevating sports local earned media and delivering on a consistent level.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing communications team across multiple countries and cultures.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
Measurement and Reporting: Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communications strategies and campaigns. Prepare regular reports and insights for senior management and global stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years' experience in communications, publicity, or public relations, preferably within the entertainment, media, or streaming sectors. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English required; Portuguese is a strong plus. Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR campaigns for original content and/or sports programming. Strong leadership and team management skills across multi-country environments. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Experience working with high-profile talent and executives.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural setting.
Location and Travel
The position is based in a major Latin American hub (e.g., Miami, Mexico City, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, or similar) and requires regular travel within the region and occasional international travel.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $150,290.00 - $279,110.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
