World Abu Dhabi, along with the popular Friends Experiences and more, deliver high levels of fan engagement, exceptional customer service, and creative interactivity.

The next exciting addition to this collection is Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai - The Making of Harry Potter, a completely new experience for Harry Potter fans in China. Located in the heart of Shanghai, this indoor attraction will transport visitors into the world of filmmaking, revealing production secrets through interactive experiences, showcasing stunning locations, and displaying beautifully crafted props.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai will be operated in partnership with Jinjiang International (Holdings) Co., Ltd, a State-Owned Enterprise, ensuring a world-class experience for all who visit.

Your New Role

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Shanghai is seeking an experienced and dynamic Technology leader to lead our technology strategy and operations. This role will build and oversee an on-site technical team, manage technology partners and vendors, and ensure the seamless operation of critical systems supporting our world-class guest experience. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in themed attraction technology, have experience in driving the identification, competitive analyzation, and selection of business applications, storage, computer, and network hardware, and technical professional services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor an on-site technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
    • Manage relationships with technology partners, vendors, and joint venture partners in the US and UK to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders across the Studio Tour Leadership and JV Partners to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
  • System Management and Operations:

    • Oversee revenue systems, including retail, ticketing, and other revenue-generating platforms, ensuring reliability and scalability.
    • Oversee the administration of all business and operations systems, e.g. Ticketing, Retail, Warehouse, Contact Center, Financial, Human Resource, and all other systems needed to run essential business functions.
    • Oversee and coordinate with third-party partners and internal support teams to deliver collaboration tools, workforce support tools, storage infrastructure, compute, and network operations.
    • Oversee and coordinate with third-party partners and internal support teams to deliver mini-programs (e.g., WeChat), marketing websites, call center systems, and business intelligence platforms (data, reporting, dashboards).
  • Technical Support and Project Delivery:

    • Support break-fix operations for unique and standard hardware, ensuring minimal downtime.
    • Drive project delivery, managing application roadmaps and implementing innovative solutions to enhance guest experiences.
    • Leverage AI and custom software development to optimize operations and guest engagement.
  • Compliance and Security:

    • Manage system operating compliance, ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.
    • Oversee vulnerability management to protect critical systems and data from cyber threats.
  • Strategic Collaboration:

    • Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into technology solutions.
    • Collaborate with US and UK joint venture partners to integrate global best practices and technologies.
    • Develop and maintain application roadmaps to support long-term business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles.
    • Relevant experience in themed attractions, entertainment, or hospitality industries, preferably with a Multi-National Company
    • Proven expertise in managing revenue systems (ticketing, retail), ERP systems, and networking technology.
    • Demonstrated success in leveraging AI to enhance operational efficiency and guest experiences.
    • Extensive experience in custom software development, including mini-programs and web platforms.
    • Track record of managing complex technology projects and vendor relationships.
  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Technology Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications (Preferred):

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
    • ITIL Foundation or higher for IT service management.
    • Relevant certifications in AI, cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure), or networking (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
  • Skills and Competencies:

    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) with excellent verbal and written communication skills to enable collaboration with Global stakeholders
    • Strong ability to partner with diverse stakeholders, including business leaders and international technology partners.
    • Expertise in managing cross-functional teams and driving technology innovation.
    • Deep understanding of compliance, cybersecurity, and vulnerability management in a technology-driven environment. Strategic mindset with the ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives.

  • Based in Shanghai, China, with occasional international travel to collaborate with US and UK partners.
  • Fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring adaptability and a guest-centric mindset.
