Meet our Team
The Data and Audience Platform team sits within the Data & Analytics organization in WBD's Global Tech division. We build the data platform behind our streaming services and content businesses - the pipelines, data lakes, and serving infrastructure that turn billions of events into audience insights, personalization, and intelligent products. We're growing our presence in India and looking for a Staff Engineer to help shape the next generation of our platform, where data engineering and applied AI come together.
Role Overview
As a Staff Engineer on the Data and Audience Platform, you'll set technical direction for the systems that power both our data and our intelligence layers. You'll work on core data platform projects - building scalable, reliable infrastructure - while also enabling the ML and AI capabilities that run on top of it. This is a hands-on, high-leverage role: you'll architect systems, write code, and raise the engineering bar across the org.
What You'll Do
- Drive the architecture and design of large-scale data platform systems - pipelines, data lakes, and serving infrastructure that process billions of events.
- Build the foundations that power AI and ML: feature platforms, training data pipelines, and model-serving infrastructure.
- Partner with data science and ML teams to productionize models and enable AI/GenAI-powered capabilities on top of the platform.
- Set technical standards and best practices in data modeling, system design, reliability, and applied AI.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical strategy and decisions beyond your immediate team.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, building and maintaining scalable software systems.
- Extensive experience designing and shipping production-grade, large-scale data platforms.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java) and deep knowledge of distributed data processing (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka).
- Hands-on experience with cloud data infrastructure (AWS/GCP, data lakes, warehouses).
- Practical experience enabling ML/AI in production - feature pipelines, model serving, or GenAI/LLM-based systems.
- A track record of technical leadership: setting direction, driving cross-team initiatives, and mentoring engineers.

- Familiarity with MLOps tooling and modern AI/LLM frameworks.
