Your New Role...

As a Senior Accountant within the EMEA Direct-to-Consumer Controllership team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant expense accounting across multiple territories for Warner Bros. Discovery. You will oversee end-to-end accounting activities related to operational, marketing, personnel and technology expenses, supporting the month-end close process and partnering closely with cross-functional teams.

Your Role Accountabilities
  • Ensure accurate and compliant expense accounting in line with US GAAP, IFRS and company policies.
  • Manage month-end close for expense-related accounts, including accruals, prepaids and journal entries.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations for key expense accounts.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, FP&A and other business partners to ensure timely and accurate expense recognition.
  • Support SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Review and resolve intercompany discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Support statutory reporting processes, including preparation of audit support and documentation.
  • Participate in system and process integrations across the EMEA controllership area.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in an accounting role with strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and SOX.
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree a plus.
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant qualification strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and ability to learn new tools.
  • Experience in automating manual processes and implementing best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to embrace change and support process optimization.
  • Willingness to travel internationally occasionally.
  • Preferred: experience in multinational environments, SAP, operational accounting, filmed entertainment accounting.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
