Your New Role...

Concept + Design Studio is the full-service in-house partner for all things creative within HBO Max Marketing at Warner Bros. Discovery. Our work spans multiple teams globally and encompasses brand identity, campaigns, toolkits, key art, OOH, motion graphics, and print and digital design. Together, we create and translate the brand for any medium to best serve our stories.

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Motion Designer with a passion for storytelling through design, motion graphics, and animation. As part of the Motion Creative team, they will be integral in the day-to-day creation and production of creative motion graphics to support HBO campaigns - including promos, trailers, OOH displays, and environmental - while maintaining the highest level of design consistency across mediums. They will work collaboratively with other motion designers, project managers, and stakeholders throughout creative development, from ideation to execution. Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Drive the design process, taking ideas from concept through final production
  • Work in 2D and 3D to create style frames, style guides, and motion design packages for trailers, social media posts, animated key art, infographics, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Art Director and incorporate feedback into design and animation work
  • Execute multiple projects, and optimize, organize, and prepare design files for final publishing
  • Generate original motion design concepts that align with and elevate the campaign's creative direction
  • Help mentor more junior teammates, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Research and stay up to date on industry trends and techniques. Adopt generative AI tools such as Runway and Adobe Firefly to enhance concept development, ideation, and motion design workflows, and integrate AI-assisted elements into creative storytelling and production pipelines

Qualifications & Experiences...
  • Bachelor's degree or Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design/motion design preferred
  • At least 5-7 years' design and animation experience required
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D, as well as generative AI tools (Runway, Adobe Firefly)
  • Strong command of typography, color balance, scale, vector illustration, and photo retouching, with attention to fundamental design standards (centering, kerning, leading, rags, etc.)
  • Highly developed sense for pacing, velocity curves, camera work as applied to motion design
  • Strong conceptual thinking
  • Up to date on social media trends, with a passion for direct-to-consumer (DTC) content, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, delivering against tight deadlines while meeting high-quality standards and expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, with a positive "can-do" attitude, openness to constructive feedback, and strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Impeccable organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Occasional night and weekend work may be necessary, but not routinely required

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $84,000.00 - $156,001.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
