Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for defining and implementing the overarching social media vision and strategy that supports the broader 360° Marketing organization for The General Entertainment WBD Basic Brands in Latin America, while partnering closely with Brand Strategy, Media Planning, Creative Services and GTM Mexico, Brazil and ROLA Teams.

The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative, strategic and data-driven social media leader with deep expertise in entertainment, pop culture, digital ecosystems and platform behavior across LATAM markets. This person must understand how audiences discover, engage and consume entertainment content across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X.

This role will directly report the marketing director and manage social media leads in Colombia, Argentina and Brazil, while overseeing agency relationships, editorial direction, social KPIs, campaign amplification and platform growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Social Media Leadership (30%): Define and lead the social media strategy for General Entertainment Basic Brands across Latin America. Drive a social-first marketing approach focused on discoverability, engagement, audience growth and cultural relevance, establishing KPIs aligned with marketing objectives. Oversee editorial planning and publishing strategies across all key social platforms. Identify opportunities for creators' partnerships, branded content, social stunts and cross-platform amplification.

Cross-Functional Development (30%): Partner closely with Brand Strategy, GTMs, Media Planning and Creative Services, to ensure integrated 360° campaign execution. Lead social amplification strategies for tentpole campaigns, franchises, live events, local productions and priority titles. Ensure social media initiatives support broader business objectives, audience positioning and brand health. Collaborate with Creative Services to develop platform-native creative formats and innovative storytelling approaches. Collaborate with Media Planning teams to align paid and organic social strategies. Partner with GTM leads in Mexico, Brazil and ROLA to localize and amplify regional priorities.

Team Leadership and Development (15%): Lead, mentor, and develop the social media marketing team. Foster a high-performance culture rooted in collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

Budget, project management, and agency oversight, for the regional social media ecosystem (10%): Oversee the Social Media marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and measurable return on investment. Support operational processes, manage timelines, agency relationships, and project deliverables for all social media marketing initiatives.

Market Intelligence and Performance Analysis (10%): Analyze market trends and campaign performance. Monitor competitive landscape, consumer and fandom behavior and emerging social platforms. Translate insights into actionable recommendations to continuously optimize marketing strategies and execution. Work closely with social agencies and platform partners to maximize reach, engagement and innovation opportunities.

Industry Representation (5%): Represent Warner Bros. Discovery at industry events, marketing forums, and strategic internal and external partner meetings, reinforcing the team and company's leadership and visibility.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing or Audience Development, preferably within entertainment, streaming, media or consumer brands.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • Strong experience managing regional social media strategies across LATAM markets.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of platform behavior, social trends, creators/influencer ecosystems and entertainment fandom culture.
  • Expertise in social-first content strategies, audience engagement and multiplatform storytelling.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging social insights and performance data to optimize campaigns.
  • Experience working closely with creative teams, agencies and media planning functions.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and matrixed organization.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish required. Portuguese strongly preferred.
  • Experience with social media management and analytics tools such as Sprinklr, Dash Hudson, Hootsuite, Emplifi or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint/Keynote and Excel.


The Nice to Haves:

  • Experience within entertainment, TV networks, streaming or media companies.
  • Experience managing social media for factual, lifestyle, entertainment or pop culture brands.
  • Understanding of social search, creator economy and digital discoverability trends.
  • Experience in integrating creators, branded content and social amplification into 360° marketing campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of Gen Z and Millennial audience behaviors across LATAM.
  • Passion for entertainment, fandoms, creators and digital culture.
