Your New Role...
The Hair and Make-Up Department is an integrated business unit, comprised of artists proficient in both art forms. Hair and make-up are key elements of the branding of the on-air talent for all CNN network shows. The artists support on-air talent across all platforms, and are responsible for the application, continuity, and modernization of hair and make-up for CNN Worldwide. The position works cohesively with the production team both in studio and on-location, in a fast-paced, breaking news environment. This position is responsible for the completion of daily administrative work, utilizing advanced technology. Finally, the position requires scheduling flexibility, as hours will shift due to changing programming demands, which could include weekends, overnights, shift extensions, and holidays, as well as traveling on-location as needed.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Responsible for timely execution of modern, detailed, HDTV makeup applications, utilizing both airbrush and manual makeup techniques, as well as an expert at delivering and maintaining the desired hairstyle on all hair textures and lengths, while taking into consideration industry trends, the executive vision, the audience demographic, the client's perspective, as well as the studio and lighting.
- Proficient at all hairstyling techniques and equipment which include blow-dry round brushing, wand irons, marcel irons, spring irons, and flat irons.
- Create and maintain the makeup and hairstyling "specifics" for each client to ensure consistency. Source and utilize the latest makeup products. Key artist for high-profile anchor/guests.
- Supports management, supervising the day-to-day room operations and administrative responsibilities, which include but are not limited to maintaining inventory backstock, distributing supplies, client scheduling, and implementing and overseeing the highest level of sanitation protocols.
- Effectively manages time by collaborating with team to execute room flow and responsibilities. Independently meeting deadlines.
- Utilizes open, effective, and professional communication, consistently operating with integrity and positive intention. Takes ownership of the client experience, anticipating needs, creating, and maintaining a welcoming environment, exceeding expectations.
- Responsible for implementing on-going artist education, coaching, and new hire training.
Qualifications & Experience...
- A visible, self-motivated, dynamic leader, consistently implementing the department strategy and vision.
- Two years of supervisory experience, overseeing a team of 3+ employees. Three years of makeup and hairstyling experience and well as airbrushing/HDTV experience. Esthetician or cosmetologist license, or certified training from an accredited school/salon, or equivalent required. Applicant must be willing to become or stay licensed/certified as requested.
- Experience with high-profile talent.
- Embodies the standards of personal and professional ethics. Does not tolerate or encourage unethical behavior in others, making thoughtful decisions that are based on fact and not emotion. Takes a proactive and direct approach to resolution.
- Maintaining high performance in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Computer skills, particularly in Microsoft 365, as well as a creative and proficient use of modern technology skills, contributing to the department's operations and client experience.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $78,464.00 - $145,719.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
