Your Role:

The Senior Director, Streaming Marketing Nordics will lead the strategy and execution of marketing for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Direct-to-Consumer business across the Nordics, driving growth and brand love for HBO Max across the region. This role will harness the power of our iconic IPs - from Harry Potter and DC Comics to Sports, Warner Bros. films, and HBO series - to create culturally resonant campaigns that connect deeply with local audiences.

As the senior marketing leader for the market, you'll define and deliver the country's marketing agenda - balancing creative excellence with commercial outcomes - to build a strong, enduring brand and accelerate subscriber growth. You'll inspire and empower a high-performing team to deliver results aligned with local business priorities and the broader regional and global strategy.

Your role accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute country-specific marketing plans across all functions - including social, media, creative, partnerships, and operations - that reflect local audience insights and business priorities, driving awareness and growth for HBO Max.
  • Build the long-term foundation for streaming - define the value proposition, identify target audiences, and shape strategies that drive acquisition, retention, engagement, and brand love for HBO Max.
  • Set an ambitious creative standard, leveraging our iconic portfolio - from HBO Originals, Warner Bros. films, and DC and Harry Potter franchises to Sports - to deliver culturally defining campaigns that resonate with local audiences and elevate Warner Bros. entertainment brands.
  • Partner closely with regional and global marketing leaders to align priorities, advocate for local needs, and ensure optimal support and resourcing for HBO Max initiatives.
  • Collaborate with content, product, and commercial teams to align marketing strategies with business outcomes, streamlining execution and maximizing impact across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Build and nurture strong external partnerships - including broadcasters, telcos, media partners, and local entertainment providers - to amplify visibility and strengthen HBO Max's market presence.
  • Define, monitor, and optimize key performance metrics across acquisition, retention, engagement, and brand equity. Use insights and data to balance creativity with commercial effectiveness.
  • Incorporate stakeholder perspectives while maintaining full accountability for decisions and outcomes. Lead with clarity, conviction, and agility in navigating constraints of budget and team size.
  • Stay ahead of competitive dynamics and emerging trends to ensure Warner Bros. remains at the forefront of marketing innovation and audience engagement.
  • Cultivate HBO Max as a culturally iconic and beloved brand - spanning world-class drama, film, and sport - through digital, social, experiential, and earned media efforts that build fandom, loyalty, and cultural relevance.
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing marketing team that thrives in a collaborative, creative, and results-driven culture.

Qualifications and experience:
  • Extensive progressive marketing experience, with a focus on driving growth and delivering impactful campaigns in the streaming, media, or entertainment industries.
  • Proven success in adapting and executing global marketing strategies to align with country-specific needs and opportunities.
  • Knowledge of local market dynamics, including cultural nuances, regulatory landscapes, and consumer behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external partners such as distributors, telcos, and media networks to maximize brand reach and business growth.
  • Skilled at leveraging consumer insights, audience data, and market trends to sharpen strategies and optimize campaign performance.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience in budget management, media planning, and ROI analysis.
  • Expertise in integrated marketing, including digital marketing, social media, CRM, and experiential activations.
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of trust, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working within matrixed organizational structures, balancing global priorities with local execution.
  • A proactive and flexible mindset, thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Passion for entertainment and a deep understanding of storytelling, audience engagement, and evolving market trends in the streaming industry.


Additional Information

On December 5, Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Netflix will acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max and HBO. The transaction is expected to close after the separation of Warner Bros. Discovery's Global Networks division, Discovery Global, into a new publicly-traded company, which is expected to be completed in Q3 2026.
