Your New Role...

The Senior Brand Assurance Production Designer, Sr. BA Rep, is responsible for reviewing and processing all product, packaging, and marketing submissions for North America, featuring any Warner Bros. Discovery owned properties (i.e. Looney Tunes, Animal Planet, DC, and Harry Potter), and third party owned properties (i.e. certain Theatrical properties). Using the proprietary approval system, Star Labs, the BA Rep will work within a contractually stipulated time frame (10 business days inclusive of all third-party approvals) to ensure legal copyright/trademark compliance, and adherence to Warner Bros. Discovery Consumer Products' policies and franchise guidelines. Utilizing their property knowledge, the BA Rep will work efficiently and collaboratively with Creative, PD and Franchise, to make certain licensees are producing compelling products to drive revenue at retail.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Brand Assurance Submissions

  • Leading and owning both internal and external BA account relationships.
  • Shepherd the approvals of all submissions through each stage of development from concept to final.
  • Submission items include but are not limited to 2D/3D product, packaging, marketing materials (i.e. sell sheets, website, TV commercials, social posts, etc.), POP/POS/trade show/retail displays, and promotional items (i.e. QSR toys, sporting event giveaways, etc.).
  • Works closely with Product Development (PD) to review physical and digital samples to not only guarantee compliance to our guidelines but to make certain the creative execution elevates and upholds the integrity of our brands.
  • Uses extensive knowledge of the manufacturing and product development process and applies WBD Consumer Products' policies and guidelines to provide meaningful and detailed feedback on the concept, pre-production and final samples submitted, to serve as official record under the contract with the licensees.
  • Obtains all necessary talent and third-party approvals when necessary.
  • Keeps abreast of all updates to franchise guidelines, legal/company policy modifications, system upgrades and process/procedure changes.
  • When requested, provides data in the form of reports from Star Labs to management, legal and trademarks.
  • Provide initial support to licensees on issues they may have with Star Labs and elevate as needed to Star Labs Support.
  • Provides Star Labs training and support to new licensees and new third-party approvers.
  • Applies independent thinking and problem solving, along with the knowledge of WBD Consumer Products' policies and procedures, and licensees' processes and limitations to arrive at alternative solutions that benefit the licensee while protecting the Company legally.

Product Development:
  • Support PD on creative brainstorms by providing guidance on legal/company policies and franchise guidelines without stifling the creative discussions.
  • Attend ongoing licensee meetings with PD to get a better understanding of future projects, insight into the timing and volume of upcoming submissions, and answer questions on submissions current in the system.
  • Help PD to unpack and sort the pre-production and contractual samples that are shipped to the company.


Qualifications & Experience...

Education
  • High school diploma required.
  • AA or BA college degree in Graphic Design, Production or Merchandising preferred.


Work Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in Brand Assurance or equivalent job experience.
  • Retail, merchandising, art development, or overseas manufacturing/sourcing experience is recommended.


Knowledge/Skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Highly detail-oriented and preferably have an artistic eye.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work effectively.
  • Must be able to handle digital images.
  • Must have a good command of English (spelling grammar, punctuation, etc.) so as to be able to precisely communicate feedback, and accurately record the approval history in the database.
  • Must be able to properly sift through information and properly identify emergencies and handle them.
  • Must have the ability to acquire and work with knowledge of properties in all categories, i.e., giftware, housewares, toys, apparel, accessories, publishing, and promotions.
  • Must have the ability to acquire and work with knowledge of copyrights and trademarks for use in product approvals.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, professionally and tactfully with all levels of personnel, inside and outside of the company.
  • Must have the ability to absorb and respond quickly to given information.
  • Must have the ability to learn the various properties and distinguish different styles of art from others in order to accurately process submissions.
  • Must have the ability to learn about art production and manufacturing processes in general.
  • Must be able to multi-task and give design direction and communicate that quickly and effectively.
  • Must know Adobe creative programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10, Outlook, Zoom, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Proficient typing skills required approximately 55 wpm.
  • Good with technology. Will need to learn how to use Star Labs.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $71,890.00 - $133,510.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
