The Media Planner reports to the Media Planning Executive Lead and is responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of on-air promotion strategy, to ensure that our programmes are promoted as effectively as possible to obtain maximum audience awareness to drive ratings.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Promo Strategy and Placement

- Create campaign media plans to effectively manage the available promotional airtime on the channel on a daily level

- Set campaign reach and frequency targets and monitor laydown to ensure placements met

- Use broadcast channel management software (IBMS & Gripit), to place promo campaigns into the daily schedules as per defined strategy

- Plan graphics and voice overs to maximise promotion of key channel highlights

  • Production

- Create the promo asset IDs in channel management system for each promo campaign and presentation element

- Ensure all dates, times and promo tags are entered correctly as per the media plan
- Liaise with creative team to monitor promo delivery is on time and in the event of delays or programming changes, amend schedules and materials accordingly

- Keep track of promo certification for each campaign

  • Post Campaign Analysis

- Use TechEdge software to analyse campaign performance, and where necessary, adjust media plan to ensure reach and frequency targets are met

- Provide in depth post-campaign analysis where required and feedback learnings to wider team

  • Editorial

- Ensure editorial integrity of break content and messaging

- Advise on number and durations of editorial filler required to ensure channel breaks look optimum to viewers and to reduce promo repetition

- Monitor competitor breaks and on-air strategy

- Be interested and curious about content, trends and wider issues affecting the media industry

  • Deputise for and assist Media Planning Executive Lead when required


Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in a media or broadcast environment
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting data
  • High attention to detail
  • An appreciation of creative issues and advertising
  • Demonstrable passion for international TV programming
  • Education - university level or higher
  • Computer literate with good Excel, Word and PPT
  • Working proficiency in English


Metrics
  • Efficient and effective promo optimization
  • Delivery of campaign communication targets against media plan
  • Ability to analyse data and compile reports.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions whilst under pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Numerate and analytical with close attention to detail
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Planning and organisation skills with the ability to meet fixed deadlines.


Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
