Your New Role...
The Vendor Master Data Manager is responsible for the governance, accuracy, integrity, and lifecycle management of vendor (supplier) master data across the enterprise. This role ensures that vendor data supports efficient financial operations, regulatory compliance, risk management, and strategic sourcing by maintaining high data quality standards and consistent processes across systems and regions.
The Vendor Master Data Manager acts as the central point of accountability for vendor data, partnering closely with Finance, Procurement, Compliance, IT, Tax, and Internal Audit to enable timely and accurate vendor onboarding, maintenance, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Master Data Oversight
- Own and manage end-to-end vendor master data lifecycle, including creation, modification, and deactivation.
- Establish and enforce data standards, hierarchies, and quality controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems.
- Ensure vendor data accuracy, completeness, and consistency to support Accounts Payable, Procurement, Treasury, and Reporting processes
- Lead MDM governance processes, including data ownership, stewardship, and approval workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement of master data processes to support automation, system integration, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with IT and digital teams on MDM tools, ERP enhancements, and data analytics initiatives.
Governance & Compliance
- Design and maintain governance policies covering master data, segregation of duties, and approval authorities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate fraud, duplicate vendors, and compliance risks
- Support regulatory and audit requirements, including SOX, tax reporting, and third-party risk management
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to master data and credit processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and control evidence to support governance transparency.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to improve Vendor MDM data processes through automation and system enhancements.
- Work with IT and ERP teams to optimize data workflows and integrations.
- Contribute to global transformation initiatives focused on data standardization and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor master data inquiries and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with global business units to ensure alignment of Vendor MDM data requirements and best practices.
- Provide training and support to regional teams on Vendor MDM data policies and procedures.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of vendor data analysts and specialists based in Hyderabad, India.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support career development and performance management initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience...
- 6-10 years of experience in Master Data Management, Vendor Management, or Finance Operations, preferably within media, entertainment, or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday) and data governance frameworks.
- Multi-Lingual is preferred, required language is English
- Experience with vendor onboarding, compliance, and credit risk assessment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Data Management, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CDMP, CPA) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
- Passion for data integrity and operational excellence.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization..
