Your New Role:
The Manager, Engineering reports to the Sr Director Application engineering and is accountable for team management and designing and delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions that power our advertising technology stack.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Technical Leadership & Strategy
• Define and drive the technical vision and engineering roadmap for advertising platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, reliability, and long-term platform evolution.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud-native, distributed systems and drive modernization of legacy workflows into API-first, event-driven platforms.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and operational excellence across system design, scalability, security, and performance.
• Partner with senior leadership to evaluate technology investments, platform strategy, and execution priorities.

Team Management & Development
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team by fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for engineers across multiple experience levels.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and regular feedback to help engineers strengthen both technical and leadership capabilities.
• Build an inclusive and accountable engineering culture focused on delivery excellence and business impact.
Delivery & Execution Oversight
• Oversee end-to-end execution and delivery of engineering initiatives, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions are delivered on schedule.
• Establish and monitor engineering KPIs, SLAs, operational metrics, and governance processes to improve execution predictability and platform reliability.
• Collaborate with Program Management and Product teams to prioritize roadmaps, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and remove execution blockers.
• Drive engineering efficiency through agile development practices, automation, CI/CD, and release management improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner closely with Product, Data Science, AdOps, and Business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Align engineering execution with organizational priorities and customer outcomes.
• Represent Engineering in cross-functional leadership discussions, architecture reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
• Communicate technical strategy, delivery status, risks, and trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices to improve platform scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
• Champion modernization initiatives including automation, observability, cloud optimization, and platform standardization.
• Promote a data-driven engineering culture focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and proactive incident prevention.
• Drive adoption of security, compliance, and reliability best practices across the engineering organization.
Qualifications & Experience
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, including at least 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing engineering teams and complex projects.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of modern software architecture, cloud-native platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and distributed systems. Ability to guide technical decisions rather than hands-on coding.
• Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with AdTech ecosystems, advertising workflows, and related technologies such as identity resolution, campaign execution, and monetization strategies.
• Leadership & People Management: Proven track record of managing and mentoring engineering teams, driving performance, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Strategic Delivery: Experience in defining technical roadmaps, aligning engineering initiatives with business objectives, and managing cross functional dependencies.
• Collaboration: Ability to partner effectively with Product, Data, and Operations teams, influencing stakeholders and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated ability to evaluate emerging technologies, champion automation, and implement best practices for scalability, security, and observability.
