Your New Role...
The Customer Master Data Manager is responsible for governing, maintaining, and continuously improving customer master data across the enterprise. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of customer data to support operational efficiency, financial controls, regulatory compliance, analytics, and customer experience. The Manager partners closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, IT, and Compliance to define data standards, oversee processes, and drive data quality initiatives.

Customer Master Data Governance

  • Define and own customer master data standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Establish and enforce data definitions, hierarchies, and ownership across systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, KYC).

Data Quality & Controls
  • Monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency.
  • Design and implement preventive and detective controls to reduce duplicates, errors, and downstream impacts.
  • Lead root cause analysis and remediation of recurring data quality issues.

Operational Management
  • Oversee end-to-end customer master data processes, including customer creation, maintenance, and changes.
  • Manage workflows, approvals, SLAs, and escalation procedures.
  • Lead or support centralized service models (e.g., GBS/SSC) for customer master activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Finance, Order-to-Cash, Sales, Credit, Compliance, Tax, and IT teams to align data requirements.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations impacting customer data (e.g., ERP, CRM, MDM tools).
  • Act as a subject matter expert for customer data in transformation initiatives.

Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to track data quality, cycle times, and control effectiveness.
  • Identify automation, standardization, and simplification opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop customer master data analysts or specialists.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party data providers, as applicable.
  • Communicate data risks, trends, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.


Qualifications & Experience...
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, finance operations, or shared services.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to see the big picture, identify growth opportunities, and align efforts to achieve long-term goals.
  • Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain trust with vendors, clients, and internal teams at all organizational levels.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, evaluate performance metrics, and drive profitability.
  • Results-Driven: Proactive in setting and achieving ambitious targets, with a focus on measurable outcomes
  • Problem-Solver: Adept at identifying challenges, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Excellent Communicator: Clear and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to diverse audiences (e.g., C-level stakeholders, internal teams).
  • Customer-Centric: Deep commitment to understanding and addressing client and vendor needs, enhancing satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborative Leader: Skilled in fostering teamwork across departments and external partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
