Your New Role
Warner Bros. Discovery is transforming how the world's most iconic content is created, managed, and delivered across theatrical, linear, and direct-to-consumer platforms. Central to this transformation is a modern, scalable Media Supply Chain (MSC) that powers the end-to-end lifecycle of content-from acquisition and ingest through processing, localization, rights management, scheduling, and global distribution.
The Group Vice President of Engineering, Media Supply Chain will lead and inspire multiple engineering organizations responsible for building and operating the platforms that move content reliably and efficiently across Warner Bros. Discovery's global ecosystem. These platforms support world-class brands including HBO Max, Discovery+, CNN, TNT Sports, Eurosport, and others, serving audiences in more than 220 countries.
This leader will take a hands-on, systems-level approach to building highly available, workflow-driven platforms that support massive scale, complex partner ecosystems, and evolving business models. They will work closely with peers across Product, Content Operations, Studios, Distribution, and Digital Platform teams to deliver a unified, multi-tenant media supply chain that enables speed, quality, and innovation.
This role will be based in Bangalore, India.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Lead Media Supply Chain engineering teams across ingest, metadata, asset management, processing, localization, rights, scheduling, and distribution enablement
- Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for global media supply chain platforms
- Build resilient, scalable, cloud-native workflow systems supporting linear and streaming delivery
- Partner with Product, Studios, Content Operations, and Distribution leadership
- Establish engineering and operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Champion engineering excellence, reliability, automation, and observability
- Recruit, develop, and retain senior engineering leaders
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of professional experience architecting, developing, and launching software products and/or services
- 8+ years of experience managing successful engineering teams including hiring and performance management
- Previous experience in media industry preferred
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
- You are an expert in stakeholder management - specifically managing C-level executives and other senior leadership across the globe with respect to communicating project plan, roadmap and other day to day communications
- You enjoy closely partnering with horizontal functions such as real estate and facilities, HR, Recruiting, Finance and PR
- You understand a broad range of computer science concepts, and know how, when, and when not to use them. You can dive deep into a wide range of technical problems offering suggestions and feedback to your team. Your interest in computer science has not faded as you moved into a leadership role, and you are still comfortable with technical details
- You strive in a culture of innovation - always exploring ways to say yes and try out new ideas and living outside your comfort zone
- You are comfortable handling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams
- Your written and verbal communication skills are top notch. You can distill key points out of complex technical descriptions to share with non-technical stakeholders, adapting your language and style of communication depending on the audience
- You lead by example and do not consider yourself above individual contributor work
- You have demonstrated that you can manage multiple teams, or an area of strategic importance and significant impact
- You are able to work effectively through other managers reporting to you
- You influence teams and groups outside your wider organization with your deep insight and strategic thinking
- You have demonstrated the ability to make great hiring decisions as is evidenced by the performance of engineers and managers on your team, and you are able to retain and develop the best engineers and managers
- Ability to travel 15% - 20%
