• Provide editorial management of breaking political news stories with sharp judgment and decisiveness, including serving as a frontline editor of internal alerts, digital stories and headlines, television banners and social language
• Alongside leaders of CNN's Political Unit, direct reporting, gathering of elements and clearing of information across editorial platforms
• Work with reporters and producers to ensure reporting is fair and complete and that stories are written in a clear and engaging way
• Identify compelling video moments that will shape the campaign conversation for use across platforms
• Develop creative and innovative approaches to political news coverage through visual storytelling across all platforms
• Pivot quickly from one assignment to another as priorities shift while juggling multiple stories at a time
• Monitor the competitive landscape with a keen eye for distinctive reporting opportunities
• Communicate clearly and smoothly with colleagues, ensuring editorial lands in a coordinated way across platforms

• The successful candidate for this position will have 3 to 5 years of experience in a news environment at a national-level operation, preferably working across multiple platforms
• Exceptional editorial acumen and ability to interpret complex editorial issues
• A passion for political storytelling and understanding of key editorial storylines driving campaigns and elections
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills across multiple platforms including digital text, video and linear television
• Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment 24 hours / 365 days a year
• Degree in Journalism or equivalent work experience preferred
