The Job

As Director of Market Intelligence, you will ensure Warner Bros. Games maintains a comprehensive understanding of the market and competitive landscape across current and future business opportunities. You will lead the development of market and competitive insights by analyzing macro trends, competitor strategies, and internal performance to support data-informed decision-making.

You will manage a high-impact team responsible for delivering the voice of the market to guide product, marketing, and investment strategies. The role includes market intelligence, genre and platform trend analysis, strategic opportunity identification, and support for marketing strategy development. You will collaborate with publishing, studio, and executive teams to translate third-party and internal data into insights that inform greenlight decisions, go-to-market planning, portfolio direction, and audience growth.

You will serve as the central point of contact for market intelligence, working closely with Integrated Marketing, Product Management, Franchise Planning, and Analytics across the console, PC, and mobile game businesses.

The Daily

  • Monitor and profile the market and competitive landscape, analyzing competitor strategies, product pipelines, and go-to-market approaches to generate insights that support strategic decision-making and executive communications.
  • Track and interpret market, genre, platform, and IP trends to identify shifts in player behavior, emerging opportunities, and potential risks
  • Analyze adjacent industries and macro forces to inform future-forward planning and contextualize market dynamics
  • Develop and maintain market models and frameworks to support forecasting, opportunity sizing, and scenario planning
  • Synthesize third-party (eg Newzoo, Nielsen, NPD, SensorTower, GWI, Circana etc.) and internal data into clear, actionable insights that inform product greenlights, investment decisions, and portfolio strategy
  • Conduct financial, statistical, and qualitative analysis of markets, competitors, and industry trends
  • Lead competitive benchmarking and deep dives, including teardowns, strategic assessments, and market positioning analysis
  • Partner with brand and publishing teams to inform audience segmentation, positioning, and marketing strategy development
  • Deliver executive-ready presentations and briefings that translate complex data into clear, strategic recommendations
  • Manage relationships with external market intelligence vendors and ensure effective use of syndicated data sources
  • Guide and mentor a team of analysts, ensuring high standards of analytical rigor, storytelling, and business impact
  • Maintain deep knowledge of key markets through continuous research, data analysis, and industry engagement
  • Operate with integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information

The Essentials

  • 10+ years of experience in market intelligence, competitive strategy, product marketing, or related roles, ideally within gaming, entertainment, or technology
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence product, marketing, and investment decisions
  • Deep understanding of the global games market, including platform dynamics, genre evolution, and competitor strategies across PC, console, and mobile
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to connect market signals to portfolio and go-to-market implications
  • Experience building and maintaining market models, forecasting frameworks, and opportunity sizing analyses
  • Proficiency in analyzing third-party data sources(eg Newzoo, Nielsen, NPD, SensorTower, GWI, Circana etc.) and integrating them with internal data
  • Skilled in financial, statistical, and qualitative analysis, with a strong grasp of market research methodologies
  • Proven ability to bring structure and clarity to highly complex initiatives..
  • Effective communication and presentation skills required.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills coupled with strong campaign, media, and marketing instincts are needed.
  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.

The Nice to Haves

  • Passion for gaming!
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, product, and analytics.
  • Background in strategy consulting, strategy, or corporate development with exposure to market sizing, competitive analysis, or investment evaluation
  • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data querying languages (e.g., SQL)
  • Prior global experience and perspectives.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $136,500.00 - $253,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
