We are CNN. THE WORLD'S MOST ESSENTIAL AND ENGAGING SOURCE OF DIGITAL NEWS. We are in the midst of rapid transformation and need our next generation of innovators, makers, and dreamers who will lead and drive our growth. We aim to make the world a better, more connected place.

Your New Role...

The Director, Engagement Analytics will lead analytics efforts that help CNN understand how audiences experience, engage with, and return to our digital products across platforms. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Experimentation, Design, and Audience teams, translating complex behavioral data into insights that shape product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and long-term engagement growth.

As a people manager and senior analytics leader, you will manage and mentor a team of Product and Engagement analysts, set standards for analytical rigor and interpretation, and serve as a trusted thought partner to senior product and executive stakeholders. You will play a critical role in defining how CNN measures engagement, habit, and audience value - and in ensuring those metrics are used responsibly and consistently across the organization.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Product & Engagement Analytics Leadership

  • Lead strategic analysis of product engagement across web, mobile web, and mobile app and CTV, focusing on usage patterns, frequency, retention, and behavioral signals that inform product decisions.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design leaders to embed analytics into product discovery, roadmap planning, and post-launch evaluation.
  • Develop and evolve engagement measurement frameworks that distinguish between scale, habit, and depth of use.
