Your New Role...

CNN seeks a Producer, Data Analytics and Forecasting, to enhance and guide CNN's reporting on forward-looking data across platforms. The right candidate will be able to look at a range of data sources and choose those that help CNN audiences understand the story and what we know about where it may go. Combining data from multiple sources - polling, economic data, election data, predictive markets, etc. - the Producer, Data Analytics and Forecasting will work with CNN teams across platforms to generate insightful data-driven reports and clear, understandable presentations of data. Bring your enthusiasm for stories found in data, commitment to accuracy and keen news judgment to CNN's newsroom.

This position runs through 2026, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will report to the Vice President, Elections and Data Reporting innovation and work closely with the polling team.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Uncover data-driven insights into politics, the economy, current events and popular culture, using deep understanding of data and market forces to translate complex statistics into clear text and graphics for a general audience
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and key resource for CNN journalists across beats in understanding and using valid, methodologically sound sources of data in their reporting and help them to describe and present it appropriately
  • Collaborate with teams across platforms to ensure accurate and insightful graphical presentation of data from prediction markets and other sources, developing strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Bring sharp news judgment and understanding of underlying methods to the assessment of data from prediction markets and other sources


Qualifications & Experience...
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2-3 years of experience in data science, statistics, economics, political science or data-driven reporting; formal training in economics preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to translate complex statistics for a general audience
  • Close attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Understanding of and interest in forecasting and prediction modeling required, interest in politics and elections preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
