Walmart People Tech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Technical Program Manager. You will be responsible of spearheading some of People Tech's key projects, managing and leading communication with customers, stakeholders and engineering teams.

What you'll do...

The Principal, Technical Program Manager leads complex, large-scale programs by defining goals, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving end-to-end technology solutions. This role requires expertise in program planning, technical design, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery across multiple teams. The position involves translating product requirements into scalable system architectures, overseeing program execution, and fostering continuous improvement. The Enterprise People Technology team drives the deployment and adoption of innovative People technology across Walmart's global operations. Focused on enhancing associate experience and operational efficiency, the team integrates service operations with technology solutions in Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience. As part of Walmart Global Tech's Enterprise Business Services, the team leads strategic initiatives that support millions of associates worldwide. The Principal Technical Program Manager role within the Associate Lifecycle team plays a key part in advancing product innovation, leveraging data-driven insights, and delivering scalable enterprise solutions that align with business goals and technical excellence.

  • Lead and manage complex, large-scale technical programs with multiple interdependent projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivery timelines.
  • Define program scopes, stage gates, critical paths, and key deliverables while securing commitments from cross-functional teams.
  • Translate product requirements into technical designs, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure scalable, high-availability solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve ambiguities, and drive clarity across program teams to maintain progress and quality outcomes.
  • Establish and improve scalable workflows, automation frameworks, and operational excellence practices across initiatives.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and impacts effectively to stakeholders, fostering alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Mentor team members on best practices in program management, technical design.

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience in program and project management, including risk mitigation and stakeholder engagement across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong technical expertise in systems architecture, cloud infrastructure, and software/hardware lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to translate product requirements into scalable technical designs and ensure operational excellence through monitoring and incident management.
  • Skilled in Agile methodologies, program planning tools, and frameworks to drive delivery of large-scale technology programs.
  • Exceptional communication skills to align stakeholders and provide clear, data-driven progress updates.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams and implementing process improvements for enhanced efficiency and quality outcomes.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
