Job Description

Treasury Settlement Manager is a key member of the Settlement Team, responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of daily settlement activities and providing high‑quality support to internal and external stakeholders. The role acts as the primary point of contact for Settlement Operations queries, supports operational continuity by serving as backup for key settlement functions: the Payment Production Lead and the Reconciliation Lead ensuring there is an unbroken operational workflow for all daily settlement BAU.  The Treasury Settlement Manager also contributes to continuous improvement by analysing trends, enhancing documentation and supporting Treasury Senior  Management through leading analysis for the budgeting process, providing detail behind trending on bank charges and late settlements. The role is central to maintaining strong relationships with Client Services, Visa Clients, Settlement Banks and broader internal teams to ensure a seamless and positive client experience.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Group Inbox Management - Ensure that all Settlement Operations queries are answered in a timely manner with agreed targets/SLAs, providing concise and accurate responses
  • Actively partnering and building the relationship with Client Services to ensure the optimum level of support is provided to Visa’s clients in relation to settlement operations
  • Work with the Head of Settlement Production to ensure there a culture of continual learning and development for the Client Services team who are supporting settlement queries
  • Provide analysis of common trends within Settlement Operations queries and provide any further training or documentation as required to key stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of back up for both the Payment Production Lead and the Reconciliation Lead ensuring that operational knowledge is kept up to date to seamlessly take on when cover is required
  • Provision of accurate budget and forecasting on a timely manner to the Finance Business Partner
  • Monthly review of actuals against budget and reporting of differences
  • Production of a retrospective monthly analysis of late settlements and  Visa Europe’s bank charges to ensure that they are in line with expectations and any discrepancies are followed up with VE’s Settlement Banks
  • Ensure that all Settlement purchase orders are raised, and invoices are paid in a timely  manner
  • Ensure that each ‘business as usual’ operational process is documented and maintained with any updates and submitted for annual review to the Head of Settlement Production for sign off
  • Ensure that Visa Europe’s Settlement Operations process definition document (PDD) and workflow is kept up to date and submitted for annual formal review

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Please note this role will require early starts, 7am to 4pm each day.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in funds transfer and reconciliation operations
  • Ability and confidence to communicate to all levels
  • Experience in client communication and training
  • Experience in crisis management and working under extreme pressure
  • A high level of computer literacy including Microsoft Excel

Essential Criteria:

 

  • Detailed understanding of SWIFT messaging and high volume bank account reconciliations
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast paced, ever changing environment with the ability to quickly reprioritise workload
  • Ability to self-motivate and work to tight deadlines
  • Evidenced ability to switch between multiple operational work streams as well as concurrently managing numerous project.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills: ability to understand and answer Client queries efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate effective time management skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (eg Excel, Viseo)
