What's it all about?
Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.
VCA Implementation Services (VIS) is an augmentation of Visa’s consultancy offering, supporting the execution and implementation of recommendations to help scale competitive advantage and operate to succeed in the digital age.
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to work with some of Visa's leading clients. You will be responsible for the successful execution of technical implementations of Visa-related projects across our UK&I clients. Working closely with both client and Visa personnel, this person will have accountability for ensuring the delivered project outcomes are aligned against both the clients and Visa’s objectives across all aspects of delivery, including defining the requirements, scoping, training, migration/implementation, project planning, risk management, project controls, and stakeholder management (e.g. project management, stakeholder engagement, project governance etc) ensuring that industry best practice is utilised in the design and execution of deliverables.

What we expect of you, day to day:
- Provide high level visibility and drive strategic initiatives for client engagements, reporting progress into UK&I VCA and VIS functions, maintaining governance and oversight.
- Lead deployed Visa teams and project manage the delivery strategies of developed solutions with a true entrepreneurial spirit. Ensure collaboration and overall integration between project tracks.
- Design teams and source the technical expertise required to deliver high quality engagements with our clients.
- Proactively manage expectations and be the first line of escalation for our client partners and stakeholders on active VIS engagements.
- Understand our clients’ business objectives, needs, plans, etc. together with the UK&I Account Management Team.
- Identify opportunities and improvements to grow the business of both Visa and the client.
- Develop and propose appropriate project approaches and technical solutions to the client with compelling business cases.
- Provide Thought Leadership knowledge regarding the future of PayTech and retail banking to our client.
- Leverage Visa’s innovation, product and data capabilities to further grow our clients’ business by working together with the VCA and product teams.
- Build and retain Visa Consulting relationships with our key client stakeholders.
- Track funding consumption on all active projects you are leading.
- Capture learnings and create case studies to continually evolve the VIS practice.
- Develop an excellent understanding of Visa products and services.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager
Qualifications
What we're after...
- Proven experience in leading technical teams on product feature end-to-end delivery.
- Consistent track record of successful project management delivery, working across a range of teams.
- Strong consulting background, with the ability to develop and build strong, trusted client relationships and influence the design and outcomes of client engagements.
- Solid understanding of delivery techniques, methodologies, and best practices. Hands-on experience with Waterfall and Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Substantial experience in retail banking and/or payment card industry and/or merchant retail business desirable.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with an ability to measure the financial impact to a client and demonstrate the value that a VIS engagement brings to both the client and Visa.
- Growth mindset that embraces creativity, optimism, and failing-fast.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tools and the use of data insights for business growth in a digital and technology-driven environment.
- Excellent storyteller, conveying interpretation of evidence and analysis against strategic objectives resulting in explicit recommended actions.
- High levels of integrity and business ethics.
- Willingness to maintain professional development.
- Experience in technical consulting sales.
- Strong understanding of payments with in-depth knowledge of areas such as virtual card payments, value-added solutions for corporates, payment tokenization, issuer processing platforms/providers, modern API concepts, technical integration, and file delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean code in SQL and Python, C# or Java with accompanying knowledge of their industry-standard libraries and frameworks.
- Thought leader with the ability to guide, influence, and inspire performance across the technical development landscape.
