Job Description

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, implement, and support complex network systems in the commercial production environment.
  • Support Datacenter and WAN connectivity and determine capacity needs for new business requirements.
  • Serve as the primary expert for client connectivity thru cloud and MPLS, providing guidance to clients and Visa teams.
  • Produce network design documentation for project teams, peers, and support groups.
  • Provision new client processing by executing required network updates and offering technical assistance.
  • Serve as a 3rd level support for hardware installation and operation of these networks’ routers, switches, & SD-WAN devices.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to ensure compliance with Visa security standards and assist in event analysis.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen the effectiveness of client connectivity.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance network management through automation and AI.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or two+ years with an advanced degree.
  • Enterprise-level experience implementing LAN and WAN infrastructures using modern networking technologies.
  • Strong expertise in IGP and EGP WAN IP technologies.
  • Professional-level engineering knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, and Arista hardware and software.
  • Professional-level engineering knowledge of routing protocols including ISIS, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
  • Professional-level engineering knowledge of encryption protocols such as IPSec, SSL, and MACSec.
  • Hands-on programming and scripting experience in Python or similar languages, with automation using IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in integrating monitoring solutions with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and GenAI technologies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong process orientation with advanced planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, leadership, and English communication skills.
  • Availability to support critical network operations as part of a Tier 3 on-call rotation for complex after-hours issues.
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Experience using Jinja templates for automated network configuration.
  • Proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative development.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 110,700.00 to 171,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
