Job Description

Visa U.S.A. Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Software Engineer – Sr. Consultant level (multiple openings) in Austin, Texas to:

  • Responsible for the design and implementation of consumer facing mobile and digital product platforms.
  • Coordinate input from business and technology stakeholders across the organization to design and execute large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Engage in technical design of solution that is based on use cases and business requirements.
  • Complete proof of concepts and other technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions.
  • Work with development leads and architects (both enterprise and domain) to ensure overall Enterprise Architecture is inclusive of all stakeholder viewpoints and vetted to ensure that artifacts support, reflect, advance, and integrate as intended.
  • Ensure inclusion of Visa's business vision, current business environment (internally and externally) and technology and industry trends to enable results that drive Visa's business.
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following:
    1. JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS, and NodeJS;
    2. Web and mobile performance tuning and optimization;
    3. Closures, Currying, Promises, and ES6 features;
    4. Linting, prettier, and git hooks frameworks;
    5. Writing unit testing (Mocha, chai, Jest) and integration testing frameworks;
    6. OWASP secure coding practices;
    7. Worked with Redux middleware and redux sagas while working with CRUD operations;
    8. Design, develop, and maintain web applications across all stages of the development lifecycle;
    9. Cryptography features including encryption, decryption, JWE, and JWS;
    10. NoSQL;
    11. Test automation and test-driven development; and
    12. AWS, cloud infrastructure.

Worksite: Austin, Texas

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $163,550.00 to $243,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
