We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions. This position is ideal for an experienced software engineer passionate about solving challenging business problems, building applications with excellent user experience, and leveraging cutting-edge GenAI technologies. The candidate will be deeply involved in hands-on activities including POCs, design, documentation, development, and testing of new functionality, with a special emphasis on agentic solutions powered by GenAI tools.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and own mission-critical systems for highly scalable infrastructure supporting low-latency, high-throughput core payment processing.
- Architect, code, and integrate application business layers with external components, including GenAI-powered modules and agentic workflows.
- Deliver zero-defect code and ensure the team's deliverables meet or exceed prescribed SLAs.
- Break down architected solutions into smaller tasks, including GenAI and agentic workflows.
- Ensure instrumentation and monitoring for AI-driven components.
- Document design tradeoffs, best practices, and GenAI/agentic solution patterns.
- Optimize production systems including traditional and AI-enabled flows.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure scalability and stability.
- Lead POCs including GenAI prototypes and agentic workflows.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
13+ years of experience with Bachelor's Degree or 10+ with Advanced Degree.
Experience delivering enterprise-class applications with high-throughput and low-latency.
Experience with GoLang, Java, Python/Ruby and GenAI integration frameworks.
Strong coding abilities including building GenAI agents and orchestration logic.
Experience with containerization, NoSQL, and GenAI deployment.
Understanding of microservice architecture including those enhanced with AI.
Experience with security analysis including for GenAI modules.
Experience with DevOps and MLOps practices.
Strong communication skills including explaining GenAI concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GenAI tools (OpenAI, Azure AI, Hugging Face).
Experience designing and scaling agentic workflows.
Payment domain experience.
