Perhaps the most dramatic outcome of the digital revolution is the amount of data that is now collected and analyzed. Visa Open Banking handles billions of events, and this number is increasing at an exponential rate. We are passionate about enabling data-driven decisions for our clients and internal stakeholders. Our goal is to ensure data is collected, transformed, and presented securely with accuracy and reliability. Building the infrastructure and services to support this is hence a key part of what VOB engineers are doing. 

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. You will be part of the team responsible for maintaining and improving VOB system reliability, scalability and efficiency. Your primary focus will be on automating our operational activities and creating a bridge between operations and development.

A position in the infrastructure team means working in an international environment where you will be involved in: 

  • Providing VOB engineers with tailored self-service tools and services that enable teams to deliver, operate and observe their services, with low friction. 
  • Focusing on automation and tooling to enable other engineering teams to focus on core business activities. 
  • Automate provisioning, monitoring, and scaling using scripting (Python, Go, Bash). 
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that the services and tools align with their evolving requirements and use cases. 
  • Being a best practice champion, influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale systems. 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
Proven experience in designing, building, and managing large-scale, dependable cloud services in close collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go or Python.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
A strong desire to foster teamwork and collaborative efforts.
Working in an IaC environment using tooling such as Terraform, or Ansible.
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog.
Experience with GenAI tools for coding and day to day tasks.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as a part of the team.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
