Job Description
The Sr. Technical Program Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of detailed systems within the Product/Project Management (Technical) function. This role oversees the completion of requirement definitions, functional specifications, database design, and systems and technical architecture definition, implementation, unit and systems testing, and development. The position provides both project management and technical leadership, utilizing project management tools to estimate projects and monitor planning and progress techniques.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee completion of requirement definitions, functional specifications, database design, and technical architecture.
- Lead / coordinate unit and systems testing and development activities.
- Data-oriented, able to define KPIs, build dashboards, analyze trends, and use data to drive decisions
- Able to build governance processes from scratch, implement them, and continuously improve them
- Strong in interpersonal and communication skills across engineering, product, client-facing, and executive audiences
- Provide project management and technical leadership across multiple projects.
- Utilize project management tools to estimate, plan, and monitor project progress.
- Build POC / Dashboards / Skills and Agents using GENAI tooling at Visa.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
- Experience in developing and implementing technical systems.
- Experience in overseeing requirement definitions and functional specifications.
- Experience in database design and technical architecture.
- Experience in unit and systems testing and development.
- Experience in providing project management and technical leadership.
- Experience in utilizing project management tools for estimation and monitoring.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in ensuring project alignment with business objectives.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Experience in managing resources, budgets, timelines, and quality.
- Experience in collaborating with stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $152,200 to $243,700 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
