Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Senior Software Engineer (multiple openings) in Bellevue, WA to:

• Drive projects that involve full stack development using Java, Spring, Microservices, Rest based APIs, frontend frameworks like ReactJS and Spark/Scala based processing on Hadoop platform.
• Drive solution architecture and technical architecture with product owners, engineers, and technical product managers to scale products to highly functional, secure, performant and resilient platforms.
• Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high-quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.
• Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms.
• Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
• Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven solutions.
• Drive release planning exercise, track development and testing to timely releases.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.
• Work on emerging technologies, building distributed applications.
• Guide and unblock other team members on day-to-day engineering tasks.
• Position reports to the Bellevue, WA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Position requires experience in the following:
  • Java, Spring MVC, Spark and Python.
  • Data intensive application design principles and Design Patterns.
  • Test Automation framework.
  • Leading development on large data processing and transaction systems.
  • Database and SQL.
  • Unix/Linux and shell scripts.
  • Data Analytics & Visualization.
• Experience in the skills may be obtained through a combination of employment and/or education.

Additional Information

Worksite: Bellevue, WA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements:  This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $149,240.00 USD to $210,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
