Job Description

  • Lead and deliver data science engagements for clients in Thailand, ensuring high‑quality execution across all phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Work on‑site at the client’s office , collaborating closely with client data, business, and product teams to drive hands‑on execution, data analysis and solution implementation.

  • Define detailed project scope and methodology, design analytical solutions, and implement robust frameworks using appropriate tools, techniques, and modeling approaches.

  • Build strong partnerships with Visa teams, client stakeholders, and analytics counterparts to enable effective collaboration, solution deployment, and business impact tracking.

  • Maintain standards, quality, and documentation for all data science deliverables, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to Visa’s best practices.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation by leveraging Visa data, client data, and relevant external/alternative datasets to address high‑priority business needs.

  • Enhance analytical methodologies, promoting new techniques and best practices within the data science community.

  • Drive thought leadership in the data science domain and contribute to developing Visa’s intellectual property through new models, frameworks, and solution accelerators.

  • Manage client and internal stakeholder communication, presenting insights, progress updates, and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner.

This is a hybrid position primarily located in client office. Expectations of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Degree (Masters or Ph.D. would be an advantage) in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of professional work experience in banking, payments or related industry
  • Hands-on experience with data analytics/programming tools such as Python/R/SQL/Hive/Spark/SAS/Hadoop, and a working knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem
  • Proficiency in statistical techniques: Neural Networks, Gradient Boosting, Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis, etc.
  • Manage and take ownership of all data-related client deliverables and discussions
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple and concurrent analytics projects with diverse cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong internal team and external client stakeholder management with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style. Able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
  • Storyboarding and data storytelling including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • In-market experience and/or knowledge of local language, culture as well as industry regulations
  • Proven experience operating as an individual contributor, with the ability to independently lead analytical workstreams, structure problem statements, and deliver high quality outputs without day to day supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of banking data, including product level datasets (cards, retail banking, deposits, loans), customer behavior data, transaction flows, risk and credit data, or other relevant financial data structures. Experience collaborating with bank data teams or working within a bank environment is strongly preferred.
