What’s it all about?
This role is a key member of the Pacific Islands Client Engagement team responsible for the account management of a key strategic partnership based in Papua New Guinea.
This role is based in Brisbane or Sydney and dedicated to supporting a major strategic partnership in the Pacific Islands. As the primary champion for our key partner, you will ensure they fully realize the value of their relationship with Visa by actively representing their interests across the broader Visa organization. You will engage and coordinate with local, regional, and global teams to deliver exceptional outcomes, acting as a central point of contact and advocate for the partner’s needs and objectives.
A core responsibility is to drive the expansion and adoption of digital payments in Papua New Guinea and throughout the Pacific Islands, positioning yourself as a vocal advocate
for progress and innovation in these markets. Your customer-obsessed mindset will be evident in your commitment to delivering outstanding client experiences for the key partner and maximizing the value the partner achieves from Visa’s suite of solutions, including Value-Added Services and Commercial/Money Movement Solutions.
To excel in this role, you will possess a proven track record in business development and strategic client relationship management, supported by strong project management, analytical, and communication skills. These capabilities are essential for meeting financial targets, fulfilling contractual and commercial obligations, and ensuring the successful execution of key initiatives across both the strategic partnership and the broader client portfolio. Your focus will be on enabling the partner’s growth, diversifying Visa’s business offerings, and strengthening our presence throughout the Pacific Islands.
What we expect of you, day to day
- Be the key day-to-day contact point for an existing client portfolio and drive new client relationships. You will be acting as the face primarily in Visa in Papua New Guinea.
- Delivery of account financial targets including payment volume, net revenue and value-added services revenue.
- Develop, executive and monitor client investment plans in conjunction with account executive team to ensure all partnership incentives are allocated to maximise ROI for client and Visa.
- Identify business opportunities, including demonstrating the value of Visa solutions to support client objectives.
- Staying abreast of regulatory, technological, and competitive developments in the Pacific and proactively identify how these impact client needs and Visa’s Value proposition.
- Act as the “voice of the client” by interpreting the client’s strategy, business plans and priorities and communicating within Visa to provide optimal value for our clients.
- Ensure portfolio insights, business and industry updates are presented to the client, tailored to their business strategy and priorities.
- Management and implementation of partnership contract obligations, including operational/governance oversight.
- Facilitate and direct internal Visa support areas in response to specific client requests and ensure the delivery of risk and fraud, marketing, product, operations and innovation support as required.
- Responsible for exceeding client satisfaction/net promoter scores.
- Be a champion for financial inclusion and promote digital payments within the Pacific.
Qualifications
What we are after
- 8+ years business experience within the payments, SaaS/PaaS/BaaS or technology industry or similar experience in consulting
- Experience operating with and or in Papua New Guinea, Fiji or other developing markets
- Results oriented individual who delivers a positive impact on business performance and obsesses about customers
- Experienced in bringing in new client relationships
- Experience in leading and developing team members/ project teams
- Excellent verbal, analytical and written communications skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with senior client executives
- Experience in strategic account plan development and management.
