Job Description

As the Senior Director of Marketing Services & Creative Strategy within Visa Marketing Services, you will play a pivotal role in executing the vision, strategy, and go-to-market efforts for Visa’s Marketing Services in North America. You will play a critical role in the evolution of our business to better serve our most valued clients, and drive a significant portion of the value delivered by the Marketing Services functions. This role is key to delivering value-added services, including marketing strategy/planning, sponsorships, creative services, and end-to-end marketing execution, while closely partnering with Visa Consulting & Analytics, sales teams, and Finance.

This position reports directly to the Head of Marketing Services, North America. The Senior Director will work closely with client account managers, and various marketing and marketing support disciplines across Visa.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive short- and long-term marketing and creative strategies tailored to top-tier clients, aligning initiatives with business objectives and client goals.
  • Analyze market trends and client feedback to inform the evolution of creative and strategic approaches.
  • Responsible for driving revenue growth by successfully selling in business plans, strategic initiatives, and innovative creative concepts to clients.
  • Assume accountability for the Marketing Services P&L in the region, leading financial management, pipeline management, annual planning, and reporting.
  • Set pricing and margin targets by project type and develop scalable, repeatable solutions by building playbooks and new capabilities in partnership with global teams.
  • Drive innovation in marketing services—analyzing market trends and client feedback to inform the evolution of creative and strategic approaches that deliver measurable results.
  • Partner with Sales executives and Visa Consulting & Analytics to sell and position Marketing Services to clients across regions and markets, developing embedded models with repeatable, committed revenue from top strategic clients.
  • Support RFP response efforts, including ideation, pitching, and showcasing Visa’s unique value proposition as a competitive and strategic partner.
  • Support ongoing operations across key cross-functional and cross-geography touchpoints, sharing best practices and enhancing capabilities across regions.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on the impact of strategic initiatives on client satisfaction and business performance, preparing concise executive-level communications for senior leadership.
  • Recruit, build, and develop a world-class team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement, while mentoring and nurturing talent for long-term growth.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience (or 8+ years with an advanced degree). 8+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience preferred, ideally within a highly dynamic commercial marketing role in a growth industry.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies for large-scale, revenue-generating clients, with strong financial acumen.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, adept at building relationships and influencing across matrixed environments and diverse business units.
  • Dynamic presenter, demonstrating outstanding interpersonal skills and a proven record of successfully selling ideas and concepts that drive measurable revenue growth.
  • Proven expertise in guiding both in-house and external creative teams to consistently deliver exceptional, world-class creative solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Expertise in client-facing roles, consulting, sales, or marketing advisory, experience pitching, scoping, and advising on data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the payments marketing landscape and working knowledge of payment product economics.
  • Ability to innovate and operate in ambiguous or “white space” environments.
  • Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing, diverse teams in dynamic environments.
  • Strong presentation and executive communication skills, able to convey compelling messages to senior-level audiences internally and externally.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 210,900.00 to 329,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
