Job Description
The role of Senior Commercial Finance Manager for the Southern Europe (SE) cluster is to be a recognized Subject Matter Expert and deal modeler for the SE Cluster on Client Incentives deals (CIAs). The SE cluster is the most geographically diverse within Visa Europe, including key markets such as Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Israel all with very specific market characteristics impacting deals directly.
The role is responsible for driving business cases to evaluate new proposals and recommend financial deal structures and solutions that can satisfy both Visa and client commercial needs, and governance requirements.
The role will ensure all client incentive deals brought for approval are commercially viable, optimally structured, focused on driving revenue growth and are in line with the broader European strategic agenda.

Working with the regional Deal Lead and local Chief Finance Officer and their team, the successful candidate will ensure that Account Executives prepare robust offers to new and existing clients, by determining the viability (via modelling) of investment proposals within the cluster.
Responsible for producing investment appraisal briefing documents (deal decks) for executive level stakeholders including global decision-making (GIG and GPIC) and presenting to senior management ensuring the finance point of view is front and centre in every GPIC/EDR/GIG discussion
The role holder will report to the Head of Issuing Deals and whilst geographically based in the Southern European cluster will be a member of a Central Deal Finance Team based out of London. It is one of a number of roles embedded in clusters with team colleagues also based in Frankfurt, Milan, Paris and Warsaw as well as London.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- Accountancy Qualification (CIMA/ACA/ ACCA) or MBA
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience of working in a Finance department, preferably with some experience of Finance support for commercial decision-making.
- Demonstrated expertise on payments business
- Substantial experience running complex data analysis and modelling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential
- Demonstrated ability to explain and evaluate financial information to non- numerate individuals
- Proven negotiation and influencing skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders at all levels,
- High level of computer literacy including detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data repositories such as Cognos, Hyperion.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
