Job Description
Visa is seeking a Product Director to join the North America Small Business & Emerging Middle Market Product team within Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS). This role is responsible for helping shape and execute the strategy, commercialization, and go-to-market approach for Visa's Small Business and Emerging Middle Market portfolio across North America, with a focus on driving growth, differentiation, and client value through both credit and debit solutions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting Visa's global product innovation with North American market needs by identifying growth opportunities, developing market strategies, defining customer value propositions, and supporting the successful launch and adoption of new capabilities. This role requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, customer empathy, and execution excellence, with the ability to influence stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization.

Unlike traditional product management roles focused on software development, this position emphasizes product strategy, commercialization, market development, and client engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, marketing, global product teams, financial institution partners, and other cross-functional stakeholders to bring innovative commercial payment solutions to market and drive business outcomes.
This role also requires a strong curiosity for emerging technologies and a commitment to leveraging modern AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, accelerate insights, enhance decision-making, and support product innovation. The successful candidate will be comfortable incorporating Visa-approved AI capabilities into their day-to-day work, including research, analysis, content development, strategic planning, product ideation, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the product strategy, commercialization plans, and go-to-market execution for Visa's North America Small Business and Emerging Middle Market portfolio, including both credit and debit solutions.
- Assess market opportunities through client engagement, market research, competitive analysis, and data-driven insights.
- Develop business cases, market assessments, and strategic recommendations that drive portfolio growth and performance.
- Translate customer needs, market opportunities, and product capabilities into compelling value propositions, sales enablement materials, and go-to-market strategies.
- Partner with global product organizations to evaluate new capabilities, influence roadmap priorities, and ensure alignment with North America market requirements.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives involving sales, marketing, strategy, compliance, legal, risk, operations, and technology teams to bring new solutions and enhancements to market.
- Identify unmet customer needs and contribute to the development of new solution concepts, partnership opportunities, and market-facing offerings.
- Support executive-level client engagements, strategic business reviews, and sales opportunities as a subject matter expert for Visa's Small Business and Emerging Middle Market portfolio.
- Monitor portfolio performance, market dynamics, and competitive developments to identify opportunities for optimization and future investment.
- Develop clear and compelling executive communications that articulate market opportunity, customer value, strategic priorities, and business impact.
- Leverage Visa-approved AI tools to enhance research, analysis, strategic planning, content development, and decision-making.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
This role must sit in Austin, Texas or San Francisco, California.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in product strategy, product marketing, product management, commercialization, market development, payments, fintech, commercial banking, or related fields.
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies, product initiatives, or commercialization programs.
- Knowledge of small business, commercial banking, payments, financial services, fintech, or related markets.
- Experience translating customer needs and market insights into actionable business or product strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive results in a matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop compelling business recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Small Business and/or Emerging Middle Market customer segments.
- Experience within payments, card products, commercial banking, treasury management, fintech, merchant services, or financial institutions.
- Experience with commercial credit, debit, or payment-related products.
- Product marketing management, product strategy, or commercialization leadership experience.
- Experience working with global and regional organizations to adapt products or solutions for local markets.
- Familiarity with product development processes, product lifecycle management, and market launch execution.
- Experience developing industry-specific or vertical-focused growth strategies.
- MBA or advanced business-related degree.
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, insight generation, and strategic decision-making.
Information for US Applicants
For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $173,100 to $307,600 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
