Job Description

As a Payment Platform Strategy Associate, you will play a key role in shaping initiatives that modernize Visa’s payment platforms and enhance flexibility, scalability, and intelligence across our core systems. This is an opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and exceptional communication abilities to contribute to projects that influence Visa’s roadmap. You will work cross-functionally with product, engineering, risk, and client teams to support modernization efforts and deliver insights that drive business impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of strategies for modernizing Visa’s authorization, clearing and settlement capabilities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to embed advanced capabilities like intelligent payment blocking, enriched data validation, and real-time clearing/settlement into payment flows.
  • Define business requirements for emerging capability areas such as AI-driven decisioning, enhanced client configuration and streaming data exchanges.
  • Partner with technology teams to ensure business requirements are translated into end-to-end solutions and delivered successfully.
  • Collaborate with technology, risk, and product teams to align initiatives with client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare clear, compelling presentations and narratives for diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, bringing creative and strategic thinking to problem-solving.
  • Conduct research on global payment trends and distill insights into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
2-3 years product management or corporate strategy experience
Familiarity with payment systems (card networks, ACH, real-time payments) and interest in learning Visa Net capabilities.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, ability to turn insights into business recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex concepts and influence stakeholders.
Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business narratives.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity across cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-changing environments.
Consulting mindset with strategic thinking and problem-framing skills.
Collaborative and creative approach to cross-functional work.

Additional Information

Work Authorization: Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 123,000.00 to 173,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
