Job Description
Role Summary
Visa Canada is seeking a Manager, Product Management to drive the activation, adoption, and growth of digital payment solutions in the Canadian market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading local product strategy and go-to-market execution for select digital commerce initiatives like Tokens, Click to Pay and Agentic commerce, while supporting broader areas including authentication, wallets, digital identity, passkeys, and emerging commerce experiences.
Working closely with Canadian clients and North America and global product teams, this individual will serve as both a market advocate and product expert, ensuring global innovation is successfully launched, adopted, and scaled within Canada.
This role is ideal for a self-driven product professional who is curious, proactive, and comfortable operating in ambiguity. The successful candidate takes ownership, builds trusted relationships, and drives initiative forward with limited direction.
Job Description
Product Ownership & Market Strategy
- Serve as the Canadian product lead for assigned digital payment solutions, with primary responsibility for Click to Pay and digital commerce initiatives.
- Develop and execute market activation strategies that drive client adoption and business outcomes.
- Translate global product roadmaps into actionable Canadian market plans and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve product performance, client experience, and adoption.
- Provide market insights and recommendations to influence regional and global product strategies.
- Act as the voice of the Canadian market by identifying client needs, market gaps, and emerging opportunities.
Client Engagement & Ecosystem Leadership
- Act as an advisor to issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors, and ecosystem partners.
- Lead and support client workshops, product presentations, strategy sessions, and solution discussions.
- Build strong relationships across the payments ecosystem to understand market needs and adoption barriers.
- Gather, synthesize, and communicate client feedback to North America and global product teams.
- Support client engagements and help influence Visa Canada's product strategy and value proposition.
Go-to-Market Execution
- Lead product launch and readiness activities from planning through market deployment.
- Partner with Sales, Client Services, Marketing, Risk, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure successful execution.
- Track launch progress, adoption metrics, and key market outcomes.
- Develop market-facing communications, enablement materials, and client education plans.
- Ensure initiatives align with Visa product, brand, and risk requirements.
Subject Matter Expertise & Thought Leadership
- Develop deep expertise in digital commerce, checkout experiences, authentication, tokenization, and emerging payment technologies.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, regulatory changes, and emerging market opportunities.
- Build credibility as a subject matter expert internally and externally.
- Contribute to thought leadership content and strategic market recommendations.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Influence decision-making across matrixed teams without direct authority.
- Drive alignment, accountability, and execution excellence across functions.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities, and develop plans to address them.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 4-8 years of experience in product management, payments, consulting, fintech, financial services, technology, or related industries.
- Experience supporting product launches, go-to-market initiatives, or client-facing programs.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
Knowledge & Expertise
Experience or familiarity with one or more of:
- Digital payments and e-commerce
- Checkout and commerce experiences
- Tokenization, authentication, or digital identity solutions
- Payment networks, issuing, acquiring, or fintech ecosystems
Skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences ranging from operational teams to executives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive outcomes.
