Job Description
The Leave of Absence Analyst is responsible for managing and administering employee leave of absence programs, including but not limited to short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), and other company-specific leave policies in the US and Canada. This role partners with a third-party leave vendor to ensure compliance while providing an exceptional internal experience to employees, managers, and all other stakeholders involved in the leave of absence lifecycle from the initiation of leave through returning to work.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the end-to-end administration and tracking of FMLA, STD, LTD, Military, workers comp, company-sponsored leaves, and all state mandated leave types for US and Canada.
- An advisor to employees/managers/additional stakeholders regarding leave policies and procedures.
- Identifies trends and make recommendations to stakeholders regarding employee experience related to the program
- Liaises with the third-party administrator (vendor) to help ensure a seamless leave of absence process for all stakeholders involved
- Manages ad-hoc reporting, metrics and analytics for all leave cases and workers’ compensation claims. Presents reports as requested.
- Responsible for the administration of the life insurance and survivor income benefits programs, including submitting and tracking claims, providing support to survivors, and partnering with management.
- Manages all requests professionally and confidentially that come from employees & managers using the HR case management tool and ensures that responses are provided within the agreed SLA.
- Responsible for data management activities related to employees on leave (data entry, data validation and data processing) and providing updates to necessary impacted stakeholders
- Responsible for validating and approving payroll report to ensure that employees on leave are compensated accurately
- Maintains expertise and knowledge by creating an environment of continuous process improvement for LOA processes and undertake regular reviews with key stakeholders to drive the program
- Stays knowledgeable of changing regulations to be able to provide guidance and direction to teams to help mitigate risk exposure
- Support ad-hoc global project work

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
- Previous experience in Leave of Absence administration process with a strong customer service focus
Required to work in Central Time Zone
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR/ Business Administration or any other relevant field
- At least 3 years of strong experience in Leave of Absence administration process with a strong customer service focus
- Knowledge of HR policies and practices related to leave administration
- Working knowledge of multi-state Workers Compensation regulation a plus
- Highly organized and a strong team player
- Preferred Workday and ServiceNow experience, other comparable software tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and track record working closely with business leaders and employees.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality at all times
