Job Description
Team Summary
Visa Greater China Finance Team supports Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan markets. Controllership is part of Greater China Finance organization and is in charge of the 1. US and local accounting and reporting requirements, ensuring our books and records properly reflect transactions executed 2. establishing and monitoring internal controls, partnering with the business stakeholders to ensure the controls environment continues to stay strong and effective 3. providing advisory services and training to support new business initiatives, ensuring compliance, readiness, and disciplined execution.
What a Finance Manager does at Visa:
This role reports to Sr. Director, Controllership, Greater China, will oversee Accounting to Reporting and Accounts Payable activities for Greater China entities, conduct analytical reviews, manage technical and operational accounting issues, and manage statutory audits. You will also lead continuous process improvements, enhance existing systems and tools, and drive standardization and efficiency in partnership with Market Support Center and core process owners. This position is based in Visa Shanghai Office.
Responsibilities
- Manage the financial reporting processes and ensures that internal and external financial results are timely, accurate and in accordance with US and local GAAP and applicable accounting and reporting standards.
- Manage the independent financial statement audit including completion of audited financial statements.
- Work with Global Technical Accounting team and Market Support Center, when required, to implement new financial accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure strong controls over financial accounting and reporting and that accounting policies and procedures are well understood and complied with.
- Ensure prompt and efficient integration of new acquisitions and setup of new legal entities by partnering effectively with FBP, Treasury, Finance Operations, Tax and Legal departments.
- Partner with Tax team to ensure compliance with local tax regulations, covering VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing Regulations, including monthly, quarterly and annual returns, tax payments and filings.
- Partner with Tax team to achieve transfer pricing strategies with effective monitoring of legal entity transaction flows through timely reconciliation and settlement of intercompany balances.
- Control and monitor the area of Revenue and Spend, ensure timely log the issue and work with business teams to remediate the issue to prevent recurrence.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on accounting treatments for new business initiatives, provide advisory support and training as needed.
- Work closely with Greater China FBP for annual financial planning and analysis, and budget vs. actual analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen internal controls and enhance process and reporting efficiency.

Projects you will be a part of:
Evaluate and execute the transition of residual ATR and Accounts Payable activities to the GSSC, lead training, shadowing, documentation, and post transition monitoring.
Participate and support in strategic priorities and initiatives, including new entity setup and finance operations process design.

Qualifications
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related quantitative discipline, an MBA is highly desired.
- 8 years of progress experience in audit, financial reporting or accounting operations, working in a large and fast paced multinational commercial environment.
- Certified Public Accountant or Chartered/Certified Accountant license required and Big 4 public accounting and audit experience.
- Superior business English, both oral and written is essential.
- Deep proficiency in China Accounting Standards and corporate tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, experience with Oracle and Ariba.
- Excellent analytical skills to prepare and review fluctuation and forecast schedules.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines
- Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure in a complex and diverse, international and multi cultural environment.
- Self directed and motivated to continuously improve processes to exceed customer expectations and help promote a best in class organization.
- Customer focused, driven and can lead by example.
What will also help:
- Experience handling accounting and accounts payable activities migration to shared service center.
- Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles and tools.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
