Job Description

The responsibilities for the Director, Public Sector Sales include:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies/account plans to increase sales volume, optimize product adoption, expand product, and brand visibility and achieve/exceed sales and corporate objectives.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization - working together across the Financial Institution AE's, CS, Product, Government Engagement, and the Global VGS team.
  • Analyze and monitor market trends, activities, and competitor actions to ensure that Visa is bringing the best products and solutions to market.
  • Closely aligns with Account Executives and segment leads to develop and support client facing product discussions.
  • Contribute to the overall product lifecycle by helping to identify opportunities to improve how we integrate with government and their technology partners and help inform the general roadmap.
  • Implement strategies that position the business to shape and capitalize on emerging customer and market needs and opportunities.
  • Work with large data sets to build compelling visuals and charts for both internal and external presentations.
  • Continuously review client landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to growing the Visa business.
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures that the client's business objectives are met.
  • Plan and over see lar ge and smal l re curring and imp ro mptu exter nal client facing events .
  • Manage team budget , which in cludes procure ment fu nctio ns such as cont ractin g , record re tention , wor kstream and sponsor ship o wner ship , amo ng oth er activities .

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Relationship with GSA and other government agencies.
  • Ability to demonstrate Value of Visa by briefing/presenting Visa products and support during agency and industry meetings and conferences
  • Significant experience simplifying the complex and removing business and technical barriers to execution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills/ability to influence with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally, specifically in working in a 'matrixed' environment.
  • Execution Excellence - A sense of urgency, assertiveness, and directness. Ability to think longer-term coupled with fast execution of short-term priorities.
    Dealing with Ambiguity - Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly to new demands .
    Strategic thinking - Commercially focused and pragmatic ; ha s the ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions.
  • Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.


Information for US Applicants
For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $160,500.00 to $ 257,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Work Hours

Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
