Role Overview

The Visa University LAC, Head of Region is a senior leadership role and member of the Visa University leadership team responsible for shaping, commercializing, and scaling Visa University’s learning and capability‑building offerings across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This role serves as the regional owner of learning strategy, client engagement, commercial performance, and team leadership, ensuring Visa University delivers high‑impact, revenue‑generating learning solutions that help our clients grow.

VU Head of Region roles partner closely with regional and global stakeholders across Account Executive, VCA, Client Services, Product, and global Visa University teams to deliver impactful learning experiences that drive behavior change, client value and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Learning Design, Development, and Delivery Leadership

  • Provide expert leadership in learning design, development, and delivery for Visa University offerings across the LAC region.
  • Ensure bespoke learning solutions are designed with human centric approach and developed in modular fashion so they can be included in VU knowledge base to scale.
  • Oversee delivery of all learning modalities, including instructor‑led, virtual, blended, digital and simulation experiences.
  • Build network within the LAC business to Identify and recruit SMEs to support design and delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of instructional quality, learning effectiveness, and measurable outcomes for clients.

Sales of learning solutions, set plays, recipes and bespoke projects

  • Shape and execute regional strategy to grow business 3x in 3 years.
  • Drive revenue growth by positioning and selling Visa University scalable learning products and repeatable services to LAC clients, including issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintech's, and ecosystem partners.
  • Partner with regional Sales and Account teams to identify opportunities, support client conversations, and close learning engagements.
  • Shape customized learning proposals and value propositions that address client needs and strategic priorities.
  • Represent Visa University as a trusted thought partner in client engagements and regional forums.

P&L Ownership and Financial Management

  • Own and manage the regional P&L for Visa University LAC, ensuring strong financial performance and sustainable growth.
  • Set and deliver against revenue targets, cost controls, and profitability goals.
  • Develop annual operating plans, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Continuously optimize the learning portfolio to balance client impact, scalability, and financial returns.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing regional team of learning, sales, and delivery professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capability by attracting, retaining, and developing top talent across the region.
  • Provide clear direction, performance management, and career development opportunities aligned to Visa values.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field, Master’s degree in instructional design or technology preferred.
  • Significant experience in commercial / client learning sales ideally within financial services, payments, or technology.
  • Proven track record of selling professional services or learning solutions to enterprise or institutional clients.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a P&L, including revenue growth, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Prior experience leading and developing regional or multi country teams.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and modern learning delivery methods.
  • Excellent executive level communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization and partner closely with Sales, Product, and Client Services teams.
  • Experience working across Latin America and the Caribbean, with strong cultural and market awareness.
  • Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, in addition to English.
  • Background in payments, fintech, digital commerce, or adjacent technology driven industries.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long term vision and hands on execution.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 145,100.00 to 232,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
