Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned payments professional to lead and grow strategic relationships with key regional accounts headquartered in Malaysia with operations across the APAC region and responsible for managing commercial relationships with some of Visa’s most strategic partners in Malaysia. As a Director, Account Executive, the individual will be responsible for driving commercial growth, deepening client partnerships, and delivering on performance targets across Visa’s three strategic focus areas of Core (Consumer Payments), Commercial & Money Movement Solutions (B2B & Corporate Payments), and Value-Added Services (such as Advisory, CyberSource, Loyalty Solutions, Data and Risk solutions and more).
In this role, the individual will have the opportunity to develop an all-round perspective of the way Visa works and partner with a diverse client set, generating a significant contribution to Visa’s revenue in Malaysia. Success in the role requires identifying and pursuing sales opportunities while working well with a multitude of cross functional external and internal stakeholders to execute on identified sales opportunities. This role is pivotal in executing Visa’s regional strategy and country objectives.
The Account Executive will be responsible for:
- Own and lead Visa’s end-to-end relationship with assigned regional clients, ensuring alignment with their business priorities and Visa’s strategic goals.
- Develop, manage and deepen relationships with key acquirers, merchants and partners in Malaysia
- Build and maintain high-impact relationships across client organizations, fostering collaboration to drive mutual growth across domestic and cross-border segments.
- Identify opportunities to open acceptance in underpenetrated segments to grow Visa’s market share and increase Visa revenues
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to deliver solutions that meet our clients’ needs
- Lead and work with cross-functional teams across the Visa organization to bring the best of Visa solutions and capabilities to our clients as One Visa, sharing responsibilities and resources
- Develop and execute disciplined account plans, incorporating market insights, client feedback, and Visa’s strategic imperatives to drive long-term value.
- Identify and champion new product opportunities, leveraging Visa’s global capabilities to deliver innovative solutions tailored to client needs.
- Work closely with Malaysia market teams to align on key initiatives, including merchant partnerships, loyalty programs, and inbound travel corridor strategies
- Manage contractual obligations, ensuring optimal utilization of VIK and alignment with client and Visa business priorities.

- Minimum 12 years of experience in financial services, payments, or enterprise sales, with a strong track record in managing regional or global client relationships.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive business growth.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, especially in matrixed environments.
- Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including merchant partnerships, cobrand programs, and digital commerce.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver client-centric solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging stakeholders up to executive level.
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
