Job Description

What a Director, Account Executive does at Visa:

The Director will lead sales and strategic partnership opportunities across key financial institutions headquartered in Malaysia. This role has a broad focus spanning Visa’s three strategic focus areas of Core (Consumer Payments), Commercial & Money Movement Solutions (B2B & Corporate Payments), and Value-Added Services (such as Advisory, CyberSource, Loyalty Solutions, Data and Risk solutions and more).

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop an all-round perspective of the way Visa works and partner with a diverse client set, generating a significant contribution to Visa’s revenue in Malaysia. Success in the role requires identifying and pursuing sales opportunities while working well with a multitude of cross functional external and internal stakeholders to execute on identified sales opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Grow revenue and share with FI clients across Consumer, CMS and Acquiring business areas, while also supporting Ecosystems and Regional partnership opportunities.
  • Drive and secure Value-added Services VIK revenue with the client across Products, advisory and consulting, marketing services, risk, operations and more.
  • Deal ownership and execution, partner closely with clients to keep track of deal terms and incentives utilization, to ensure their contractual targets and obligations are met or exceeded.
  • Project management of key engagements with clients in the Consumer, CMS, Acquiring, Ecosystems and all relevant areas of clients’ business.
  • Lead superior engagement with clients while also overseeing the day-to-day aspects across various client initiatives.
  • Leading and delivering of Quarterly Business Review with client stakeholders to review performance, identify gaps, provide recommendations and execute action items to grow business and revenue.
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures Visa is familiar with the strategies and issues of the client and tailor Visa's engagement to address those needs.
  • Develop a clear account plan and track it closely, drive engagements/collaboration with key stakeholders to deliver on these plans.
  • Assist the client in meeting their business objectives and maximizing the performance of their Visa portfolio.
  • Financial forecasting and attuned to various dynamics that affect client and Visa business performance.
  • Analyze and carefully monitor on an ongoing basis market trends, activities and competitor actions to enable the account team to develop and implement pre-emptive strategies and plans for the client.

This role will be representing Visa as our clients’ key points of contact in Malaysia. Sharing Visa’s vision and communicating the implications of the changing payments landscape to key stakeholders across the client’s multiple functions and businesses, the role is key to continuously raise the level and the nature of engagement with our clients.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience related to sales and business development in the payments industry – issuing, acquiring, payment enablers, or fintech sector experience.
  • Proficient in commercial deal modelling, deal negotiation and a proven track record of planning, managing and closing complex deals, with a focus on results driven execution.
  • Strong understanding of players in the payments ecosystem – experience with commercial money movement is a plus.
  • Ability to interface independently with external stakeholders at the highest level, with proven ability to build credibility, negotiate and influence decisions.
  • Independent operator with the innate drive to identify and pursue/develop new business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of payment trends, as well as Visa products and services, spanning core products, commercial and money movement, as well as value added services and emerging digital solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and focus on key revenue driving opportunities.
  • An innovative mindset and agile with ability to adapt to market needs and changing environment.
  • Collaborative approach with internal stakeholders and cross functional teams.
