Job Description

Visa DPS Issuing Solutions is seeking a Chief SW Engineer in Denver, Colorado with the following responsibilities:

  • Architect, design and code GenAI solutions for increasing development velocity and launching highly scalable and reliable transaction processing systems.

  • Actively contribute to critical projects by developing key modules, core frameworks and automation tools.

  • Establish engineering best practices for application development, testing, deployment and monitoring.

  • Collaborate with business partners to convert product requirements into high quality solutions that comply with all nonfunctional requirements, including security, scalability, availability, and reliability.

  • Provide technology leadership and motivate a high performing team of senior engineers to set clear priorities to achieve product/technology goals and KPIs.

Collaborate with security, privacy, and governance teams to ensure that the products developed comply with relevant policies, standards, and regulations.

  • This role is heavily focused on enabling GenAI adoption across the SDLC. Top candidates will have a strong passion and curiosity around how best to leverage GenAI in the payments transaction processing space.

  • This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:
    12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 9 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
    Experience in building solutions to accelerate software development through GenAI
    Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and secure distributed applications.
    Expert level proficiency in Java programming language.
    Hands-on experience in software product development, leveraging microservices architectures
    Experience developing event-driven applications using technologies like Kafka or equivalent SQL and an understanding of other relational database technologies.
    Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes or equivalent.
    Experience working with distributed caching technologies such as Hazelcast and Redis or equivalent.
    Experience in deployment and distribution lifecycle with automated and scalable CI/CD tools.
    Continuous delivery and DevOps experience, including infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, auditing, and security implementation and practices.
    Experience in API development using SOAP or REST, JSON, and XML.

    Additional Information

    Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

    Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 185,000.00 to 296,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
