Job Description
What’s it all about?
This role is directly responsible for the end-to-end leadership, strategic account management and revenue of a Financial Institution in New Zealand. The position is focused on driving great client outcomes and diversifying the business via Value Added Services and Commercial Money Movement Solutions.
The Director, Account Executive is accountable for Accelerating growth, driving engagement with senior executives, and managing a strong ROI on contractual obligations whilst overseeing delivery of Visa’s partnership commitments.
Success in this role requires extensive knowledge of payments combined with a passion for innovation, strong communication and influencing skills, and a targeted focus on driving revenue growth and business outcomes for Visa and our clients.
What we expect of you, day to day
- Delivery of financial targets and Non Financial outcomes across client portfolios.
- Ability to identify new opportunities, revenue generating ideas and utilise Visa solutions to grow our business with the client portfolio.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans in conjunction with account executive team and other internal stakeholders to achieve targets.
- Develop, executive and monitor client investment plans in conjunction with account executive team to ensure all partnership incentives are allocated to maximise ROI for the client and Visa.
- Responsible for the client executive engagement models to establish and maintain positive and constructive relationships with key client contacts, act as internal subject matter expert on client portfolio, to support executive engagement.
- Act as the ‘voice of the client’ within Visa, by interpreting clients business plans strategic priorities and communicating within Visa.
- Facilitate and direct internal Visa support areas in response to specific client requests and ensure the delivery of risk, marketing, product, operations and innovation support.
- Responsible for achieving or exceeding client satisfaction/net promoter scores.
- Co-ordinate and present regular portfolio insights, business and industry updates to the clients delivering thought leadership and global best practices
- Regular communication with Visa Global Account teams on client account plans and performance, incentive management and general client matters.

What we are after
- Extensive business experience with related sales and account management experience in the payments or technology industry or similar experience in consulting
- Strong business development and negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business and/or growing business with existing clients
- Results oriented individual who delivers a positive impact on business performance
- A record in leading and developing in high performing teams
- Excellent verbal, analytical and written communications skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with senior client and internal executives
- Experience in strategic account plan development and management. Successfully executing against them with a collaborative mind-set
- Strong commercial acumen and astuteness
- Self-starter with exemplary organisational and issue resolution management skills
- Significant stakeholder management experience with a proven ability to manage and grow cross functional relationships locally, regionally and globally.
