Job Description

Visa is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and passionate Strategy  & Business Planning, Operations (BPO) Analyst to join the North America Enablers, Merchants and Fintech team (EMF).  The EMF Team (Enablers, Merchants and Fintechs) plays a crucial role in the payments ecosystem, representing the seller side and the fintech side of the ecosystem. The EMF Team manages over 800 client accounts and makes up 53% of Visa’s revenue in North America. We work with some of the most prominent and innovative clients. These clients include Enablers such as Adyen and Toast, Merchants such as Airbnb, Costco, Netflix and United Airlines, and Fintechs such as Cash App, Shopify and Affirm.

The Strategy & BPO Analyst will focus on sales enablement through a variety of vectors – go-to-market resources, reporting, operational excellence, internal events and client-facing events that focus on thought leadership. Importantly, they will also play a critical and high-impact role in driving our Visa 2030 strategy and identifying opportunities for growth, developing expertise in both the acceptance and fintech space. The role will also help develop new approaches to work more efficiently and drive team member engagement within the EMF team.  This position requires the ability to apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems, and quickly arrive at recommendations that drive the EMF organization’s priorities.

The Analyst will report directly to the Senior Director of Strategy & BPO of the NA EMF team.  The Strategy & BPO function leads business operations, business planning, sales enablement, culture, communications and strategy for the EMF team.   The incoming candidate will closely collaborate with a wide breadth of cross-functional teams including Sales, Product, Sales Enablement & Analytics, Finance, Marketing, NA Operations, as well as senior leadership across the EMF organization to execute on operational and strategic priorities of the business.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner closely with the Senior Director, Strategy & BPO to lead operational activities, sales enablement, client events and strategic initiatives for the EMF team
  • Develop and enhance processes and tools to optimize business operations and improve efficiency of the team
  • Support content development of presentations for internal meetings and Visa-hosted internal and client-facing events 
  • Assist in budget management to optimize resource and investment allocation across the EMF team
  • Support EMF leadership in ad hoc strategic initiatives including client-facing presentations, sponsorship and hospitality engagements, 
  • Support the management of scorecard performance reporting
  • Support the EMF team’s client engagement strategy which includes how the team shows up with clients and at industry events, as well as how we measure and track the ROI of our investments 
  • Conduct industry research and analysis on industry trends, competitive intelligence, and new emerging solutions to inform EMF strategy and thought leadership
  • Develop and influence strategy and execution for EMF’s 2030 strategic workstreams

 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) in one of the following areas: payments, fintech, strategy & operations, consulting, business development
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Self-starter willing to learn new things to creatively solve business problems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Project management skills with the ability to follow through on strategies to drive decisions and deliver tangible business results
  • Strong interpersonal skills and EQ, with the ability to establish partnerships with stakeholders across the organization, including navigating sensitive situations and being a trusted, tactful thought partner to senior leaders
  • Demonstrated collaborator and a natural team player with exemplary organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Champion of AI tools that increase productivity and effectiveness, with a passion for educating others on use cases

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 109,700.00 to 155,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
