Team Summary

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, digital marketing and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The VCA team within China provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our local clients, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.

 

What an Associate Client Consulting does at Visa

This is a junior level role supporting VCA (Visa Consulting & Analytics) projects. You will work closely with more senior team members and clients to assist in analyzing credit cardholder data, preparing reports, and supporting the delivery of insights that help clients improve business performance. The role focuses on executing assigned analytical tasks, learning Visa’s consulting approach, and building your skills in data analysis and business problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in VCA consulting engagements by supporting data extraction, cleaning, and preparation under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Perform basic data analysis to identify patterns and trends, and help prepare preliminary insights for review.
  • Support the creation of client deliverables, including reports, presentations, and visualizations, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and learn to translate analytical outputs into simple business-oriented messages.
  • Contribute to project documentation and maintain organized records of data and analysis processes.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

What you will need

1. Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
2. 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a related analytical role 
3. Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R for basic data extraction and processing
4. Understanding of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel
5. Strong logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
6. Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

What will also help:

1. Experience in payments, retail banking, or the financial industry
2. Exposure to customer experience or user-centered design approaches
3. Strong business sense — able to connect data insights with real business problems and opportunities
