Sales Director, Western US

2 months ago Seattle, WA

Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our platform serves as the technology backbone for modern transport, transforming antiquated and siloed public transportation systems into smart, data-driven, and efficient digital networks. With hundreds of agency partners around the world, Via is recognized as the leading transportation technology and service provider globally.

As a Sales Director at Via, you'll drive revenue growth across the North American Western territory. You'll build the relationships that matter, close the deals that shape how cities invest in mobility, and help authorities and operators across the region rethink what public transport can look like. This is a high-ownership individual contributor role at the intersection of technology, public policy, and real-world impact, on a team that believes better cities start with better transportation.

About the Role:

  • Building and closing high-impact partnerships with city governments, transport authorities, and private operators, navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from first conversation to signed deal
  • Own and execute go-to-market strategy for the West's unique buying landscape, including public-sector procurement processes, political dynamics, and multi-year funding cycles
  • Creating compelling, data-driven business cases that show how Via's platform improves ridership, efficiency, and sustainability for cities and regions across the market
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to city leaders and mobility operators as they design future transit networks, identify funding mechanisms, and navigate operational and political constraints
  • Represent Via at the most senior levels in your market, actively shaping how modern mobility is understood across the region through conferences, industry events, and thought leadership
  • Bring structured, high-value market intelligence to product and strategy teams, translating on-the-ground insight from cities and operators into decisions that shape how Via thinks, builds, and competes across the market

About You:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or strategy, with a proven ability to win in enterprise, government, infrastructure, or tech-enabled services; a background in public transport or mobility is a strong plus
  • A track record of owning and winning complex, high-value, and multi-stakeholder deals where outcomes are built on trust and influence
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills; you know how to turn data, policy, and customer needs to drive strategic decisions and build compelling narratives
  • Ability to read tone and adapt communication style, whether in a boardroom, at a conference, or in a written proposal
  • A motivated self-starter who turns ambiguity into momentum; you shape the approach, set the pace, and raise the standard for how things get done
  • Sound commercial judgment; you know when to push, when to listen, and when to rethink the approach to maximise the value of a deal
  • A natural leader who views success as a team effort and thrives in high-ownership environments

What We Offer:

  • Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
  • Salary Range: $150,000-$210,000
  • We are proud to offer a generous and comprehensive benefits package, including free medical plans and 401K matching.

There has never been a more exciting time to be on the cutting edge of public mobility.
