Supplier Management, Specialist

Leads supplier management activities for a portfolio of moderate to high complexity supplier relationships. Oversees the end-to-end supplier lifecycle, including supplier selection, relationship management, performance evaluation, and risk oversight, while driving consistent supplier management practices and supporting the overall supplier strategy across the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute supplier management strategies in partnership with business stakeholders, while monitoring industry trends, conducting market research, and identifying opportunities to improve supplier value, performance, and operating effectiveness.

2. Establish and maintain supplier management frameworks, governance standards, performance metrics, and service level expectations to ensure consistent oversight across the supplier portfolio.

3. Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including sourcing activities, renewals, amendments, statements of work (SOWs), professional services engagements, negotiations, execution, and supplier transitions, in partnership with Enterprise Supply Management (ESM), Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders.

4. Facilitate supplier governance activities, including business reviews, supplier scorecards, performance monitoring, issue resolution, relationship management, and strategic roadmap discussions.

5. Support supplier risk management activities, including SOC report reviews, TPRM requirements, mitigation tracking, compliance oversight, and supplier documentation management.

6. Oversee day-to-day supplier operations, including contract repositories, invoice validation, expense tracking, reporting, operational metrics, and adherence to established supplier management processes.

7. Monitor supplier spend, budget alignment, and financial performance while identifying opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and supplier growth mitigation.

8. Lead or support strategic initiatives, supplier onboarding and transitions, RFPs, and cross-functional programs that have divisional or enterprise impact.

9. Drive process improvement efforts by leveraging automation, AI, and technology solutions to enhance supplier management capabilities, reporting, and enhance operating model maturity.

10. Maintain knowledge of Vanguard policies, supplier management practices, and industry trends while managing special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Five years related work experience. Three years experience in vendor management preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment with diverse responsibilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines by effectively managing multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; effectively manages ambiguity
  • Strong leadership, client relationship, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate others and foster teamwork.
