Senior Quantitative Strategist - Global Bond Index

Yesterday• London, United Kingdom

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Quant Strategist to support the Global Bond Index team by developing systematic investment ideas and quantitative capabilities that improve portfolio outcomes in a controlled risk environment. This role will play a central part in signal generation, systematic portfolio construction, basket creation, trade efficiency, and the application of liquidity and volatility risk premia across fixed income index portfolios.

This is a senior role for someone who can originate differentiated research, connect quantitative insight to real portfolio decisions, and work closely with portfolio managers and traders to improve investment implementation and results.

In this role you will

  • Quantitative research for the Global Bond Index team, developing signals that are robust, implementation-aware, and relevant to portfolio decisions in a tightly controlled risk environment
  • Develop quantitative approaches that support systematic portfolio construction, basket creation, and portfolio implementation across index strategies
  • Identify and advance opportunities to improve trade efficiency, execution quality, and investment workflow through better use of data, analytics, and market structure insight
  • Research market dislocations, liquidity and volatility risk premia in ways that can strengthen portfolio outcomes while remaining aligned with portfolio constraints and risk objectives
  • Build models, tools, and analytical frameworks that support alpha generation, portfolio construction, risk management, and scalable investment decision-making
  • Partner closely with portfolio managers, traders, and research stakeholders to shape priorities, refine use cases, and ensure outputs are practical and implementable
  • Evaluate ideas with clear attention to transaction costs, portfolio fit, unintended exposures, operational feasibility, and expected investment value
  • Contribute to both team-specific work and broader capabilities that can be applied across investment processes where appropriate
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations clearly, including the investment rationale, implementation considerations, and trade-offs involved
  • Help strengthen the rigor, quality, and consistency of the broader research and investment process through documentation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing

What it takes

  • Strong quantitative research experience in fixed income, systematic investing, or related investment strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to generate actionable investment ideas and translate them into portfolio applications
  • Experience in signal research, portfolio construction, and implementation within a risk-conscious investment setting
  • Familiarity with execution considerations, market microstructure, and the drivers of trade efficiency in fixed income markets
  • Deep analytical and modeling skills, with the ability to connect technical work directly to portfolio outcomes
  • Strong judgment in balancing innovation, rigor, implementation feasibility, and investment value
  • Ability to work effectively across portfolio management, trading, research, and technology-oriented partners
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence decisions through practical, well-structured analysis
  • A track record of operating independently and delivering high-impact outcomes in complex investment settings
  • Experience with Fixed Income Index or Enhanced Index strategies is a strong differentiator
